Thread: Fish!?!
Have any of you tried this? It is possibly the most tedious thing I have come accross to do in SWG. You think power crafting is bad? Try fishing.
I would like to suggest rangers get a craftable fish trap. Not a trap you throw like our others, but something similar to a harvester. However it should be crafted by rangers using meat / hide / bone and ONLY useable by rangers. It should only last a day or 2 at most andit falls apart after that. (so go back and get your fish quick)
They dont really need to add a survey device for it, because the fishing pole already does that in a waywith the density / vegitation check.
*It could be a great way for rangers to make some money.
* It fits into the profession perfectly.
I like the idea of a fishing net, personally. Not something that you place and then come back for -- but an item that would increase your yield of fish. Instead of getting one... you can net up to *insert nice, large number here*. I'd envision the amount you can net as being related to the level you are in one of our trees -- frontiering or trapping comes to mind.
I'd like to be able to craft fishing poles now that I've given up artisan
I've tried fishing twice, but as I never caught anything, I gave up on the idea of earning my Wilderness Survival xp this way.
Any tips on how to actually catch a fish once it bites?
First thing to do is make sure your fishing rod is the highest quality possible. Mine is 92% effectiveness and while i would like it to be a little better, it gets the job done. Bait the rod, cast your line, and then use the following actions for each message.
Nibble - Teg Left or Tug Right
Bite - Tug Up
Catch - Reel in
Now you have a fish! Try to find a spot with the highest fish density (5 stars)and lowest vegetation (0 stars).
