Ranger Archive

It is pretty boring if you're trying to grind it. I'm trying to get it organically (I'm a Ranger by choice, not Holo), but I understand why you'd want to grind away. Here's what I've seen other camp grinders do:

1. Put up a camp and sit in it for at least 20 mins (if you're the only person in it). That should max out the xp, though sometimes it takes as many as 24 minutes.

2. Craft more camps while sitting in one. Each camp you craft gives you Frontiering xp.

3. If you really want to game the system, place your camp outside a major city in a place that gets a lot of traffic. The more people who "visit" you camp, the quicker your xp maxes for that camp. I'm not sure how I feel about the ethics of this, but I see lots of people doing it near the Coronet Starport on Starsider.

I like being a Ranger. I don't see the benefits of some of the highler level boxes. I like the traps, camps and animal tracking and the just the plain idea of Ranger. I don't think I will keep Master when I get it but will keep alot of the Ranger skills. I want to go ahead and master then free up the points for combat class stuff.. I got Frontering III today finally now just have to finish up IV then I am done....

I know what you mean by "game the system" but I don't think this is that. I think sitting in a camp for nothing but XP is gaming the system. Putting a camp in a place where people are is much more in line with "using the camp", even if the people who visit the camp just pass through.
