Thread: A Nice Ranger Moment...
That said, I had a fun experience last night that I thought many of you might relate to: My first ever successful use of Rescue.
I was out hunting for pleasure on Yavin with my friend Angras Randir, Fencer. We were both buffed, though poor Mr. Randir received a less-than-optimal set of enhancements (averaging about 900). He also received more than his share of poison thanks to some enterprising anglers that broke our camo and aggroed on him. In a pitched battle with some of these beasts, Mr. Randir (I sound like the NY Times) was struck nearly to incapacitation. The poor sod.
I, on the other hand, was feeling great thanks to a very fortuitous set of buffs, a Mon Cal's mind pool, and the relative lack of biting and clawing that comes as a result of being a ranged combatant. So what did I do? Well, you smart Rangers already know the answer: I ran into the fray and, with no regard for my own safety, "rescued" my companion by waving my arms in front of the giant angler's mandibles in a way that so enranged him that he attacked me instead! Only a Ranger would have such courage! Only a Ranger would be so selfless! And, most importantly, only a ranger would have the skill to wave his arms just so.
And that's just another reason why I'm proud to be a Ranger.
I like it
. I'm surprised you had to use rescue, though--usually they just agro you for no good reason

This is a total BS post.
Everyone with half a brain (leaving out BHs, as they have way less) knows that if there is a Ranger in the grid square, he or she will be the first person the critters aggro on. I watch in fascination as my partner smacks the lair, and the first critter out aggros me, 100 m away. They always ignore the TK girl smacking the poopie out of the lair, instead they aggro on me, maskscented and almost in the next county.
Such is the life of a Ranger. To even hint that another person in a party was aggro'd upon before the Ranger is sheer blasphemy.
Ok, if you haven't guess this was tongue in cheek, twas. I am impressed, someone got ate before a Ranger and rescue worked. I hope you took screenies for posterity. Oh, and that part about TK girl and me, that's true, sigh, torturs hate me, as do most critters. I am changing my underwear more often and it isn't helping.
