I would like to be able to place a trap on the ground that was like a mineral harvestor

You place the trap go into the Options

Select a certant animal type maybe (selecting the animal type would lure them animals to the trap)

the next day you go to you trap go into the hopper and take the bones/hide or meat out of all the dead animals in your trap

Such a request is in the State of the Profession (at the bottom of the Harvesting subsection)...

Though you will find that many Rangers consider the idea of organic harvesters to be blasphemy.

You know why North American was so popular in the 1600-1700's even tho at the timeit wasa dangerous, desolate wasteland? 20 pounds per beaver hide. Then came the Hudson Fur Co. and the "rangers" of that era banded to gether and hides dropped to 1 pound per 20 hides. THEN, the fad in europe changed and you could not give them away.

Another note: the reason they were so productive was one "ranger" (trapper/mountain man) didn't hunt them all, he laid out 20 to 50 traps a day in the spots the animals frequented and collected them. "Harvestores" are not blasphemy, they arehistory. Now, think of trapping in atechnologically advancecivilization that has had >4000 years to come up with ways of hunting critters for hide. What kind of "traps" would those be?

As long as rangers only would have the ability to place those harvesting traps, im for it, I really dont want there to be a million harvestors in the wild driving our marketability down

Despite my previous sarcastic comments, I am still completely undecided on the harvester issue. For the most part, I despise the idea, but when it comes to my guilds needs, I sure would like it. I do fear it would need a lot of limits on how you use it to keep from flooding the market. These limits may make it so the harvesters are worthless.....who knows.

Okay how about this. They only work on low level small type animals. Such as say ummmm DURNIs.

2 things would happen. 1 more harvesting of these animals therefore the market would have plenty rather than be low like it is currently and 2 we could hunt the big things and not get bored out of our minds.

Besides what would a rancor trap look like? OH wow!

They would be perfect for when the good quality shifts to the low level mobs.
