Thread: Please post your logic behind....
ok, lets go slowly here.
solo: 50 hides (2 scouts or 2 ranger, same thing)
2: 50 * .6 = 30 hides, total = 30 * 2 = 60 hides
3: 50 * .6 = 30 hides, total = 30 *3 = 90 hides
more is better.
lets say we got a Scout (b) in the mix
solo - a:50 hides, b:39 hides
a: 50 * .6 = 30 hides
b: 39 * .6 = 23 hides
total: 53 hides
more is still better. Note, if solo a scout gets 34 (68% of a MR) this is break even. You add another Scout makes thisto be 17 to break even. I have never seen this much difference in practice and usually the (+/10)% which is 11% from Novice Scout to MR so harvesting 50 for a ranger would be 44 for a Scout, but someone should experiment with this to verify. Remember, adding more always ups this. In a hunt on Dathimir me and the boys was sucking 750 or more boneper Rancor collectively. This is why we group harvest
.
Yep exactly why we hunt in groups and invite others to hunt with us. If we have contracts we offer to buy their harvests for use on our own. Frederick pays 1-2 cpu less than what he is selling for. Most people jump at that oportunity.
But this is only for large harvests. Try doing this with durnis. Not going to work.
We are the anti-social ranger who gets his best harvests by socializing.

If I am understanding what you are saying correctly yes you understand the math of the harvest but the words don't make sense.
Yeah how can you get 120% out of 100% of a physical item unless it grows new meat while you harvest.
Well maybe it works like this: We can't harvest all of the animal by ourself no matter what level we are at thus allowing for higher group harvests. Because if I recall correctly I was in a very large group once. Larger than what we normally hunt with. We were able to harvest a few animals before the group go stupid (that is a whole different story that includes noobs and 2 red con dark force singing clansmen and friends). But we did cap out. Where some people could not harvest.
Thus we logically equate 100% harvest to a master ranger when in fact it is only part like 20% of an actual whole. Since SWG is so group oriented they have focused the harvests towards grouping and not care about soloist. If true is this fair to the ranger?
Or if the latter is true and we are harvesting over 100% as a group then when will the nerf come?
Just a little logic I thought of. Been thinking every time the conversation comes up. Nraas, any thoughts or knowledge?

Thanks for the confirmation NRaas! I am going to go out and get me 20 Master.......... OH your right what was I thinking. LOL
The most I have hunted with was 3 other Master Rangers. Wow 4 Master Rangers in one place at one time! Plus a soon to be Master if he would get through his survival.

No. Solo you cannot harvest all of the animal fully. Even a Master Ranger leaves something behind. Like for example our max is harvesting 20 of said animal but the animal actually can be harvested for 200. the only way you can harvest the full 200 is to get a group of master rangers that equal out to the 200.
In other words harvests favor groups. No matter what solo you cannot harvest even all of one resources. You always leave some behind.

There is another side to this and that is - how common is what your hunting. In the big game hunt on a tough planet the hunting party with rangers buddied upwill pay off. If you hunting nuna's on Tat (avian) or Rori avian for that matter (small drops from less common creatures) your better off breaking up and spreading out to find the spawns. Travel time and spawn locating are the deal breakers. With rare easy to kill spawns spreading out pays.
