Thread: Suggestions/ideas/help required for fastest way to master ranger
Well, I can tell you this; There are no shortcuts.
Scout/Ranger isn't as bad as some others, like Artisan/Droid engineer (shudder), we don't have near the amount of crafting to do for example.
There's 3 things you'll need to learn, skill wise:
1. Wilderness Survival (AKA Camping)
2. Scouting (AKA Skinning, Filleting, De-boning, and the ever popular Sniff-and-go-Seek)
3 Trapping (AKA Throw-it-till-something-sticks)
Assuming you're going to keep TKA as your "weapon skill" I'd say hunt the biggest, baddest critters you feel comfortable hunting.
Wilderness Survival, is the fine art of camping. You should try to keep the camps up as long as possible, but after 15 minutes or so, you won't earn much more XP. Just pull the old one down and puta new one up. Craft Traps and Camps whle camping to earn very small amounts of extra XP.
Scouting, is probably the easiest XP to get, which is why you need twice as much of it as anything else. You get scouting everytime you harvest Skin, Meat, or Bone from a critter. The higher level the critter, the more XP you'll get. You can also earn XP by casting Mask Scent on yourself and running around Red Con critters. NPC's won't work, they have to be animals. You can earn a LOT of XP by going to one of the adventure planets, and driving your vehicle all over the place while mask scented. The higher level the Red critter is, the more XP you'll get for sneaking past it. Be sure you take advantage of this. It's not a bug, but the ability toget scouting XP whileusing a vehicleis going to be nerfed in the future.
wow thanks alot for those great tips. I actually got a ton of scouting xp hunting and harvesting rancors last night on dathomir. the real problem I found is that my traps would not work on the rancors, and survival xp goes so slowly. Anyways thanks a ton for the tips!
