After the ID revamp I know how much players hate having abilities taken away from them.....but what the hell I'm gonna suggest this anyway

I dislike the fact that drop such as gurk hideand peko peko feathers are not the domain of scouts .

I dislike the fact that weapon component drops such as vibromotors and tailor components like heavy leather are not the domain of artisans.

I dislike the fact that Janta blood drops are not the domain of medics.

But most of all I dislike the Uber combat template loot hunter mentality and its effect on the game.

I mean if a character does not have the skills to be able to harvest hide normally where does this amazing ability to get gurk hide come from? Or if they know nothing about making a battery how are they going to know which component to get from a destroyed driod? Or if they have no medical skills how are they going to get blood from a Janta?

I don't want us to become loot hunters of any sort and I still think that rare components should be rare. But there's got to be a way of doing it that better than it is atm.

Imo it should work like this:

1) Kill rare creature.

2) Attempt to remove components from creature.

3) Computer does same role as now to see if components would have been dropped.

4) If there player recieves them.

Perhaps for the artisans they could make destroyed driods containers that need to be deconstucted much like smuggler slicing does on containers now with a chance that a decent component survived. Also heavy leather could be crafted from current rare components that we or the medics could collect orperhaps a combination of the two.

This way starting professions get bonus' as well which they are badly in need of.

Previously: Master Ranger/Master Fencer
Now: Master Tailor/Merchant/Commando

New home of SWG Rangers!

"Ranger isnt a profession. Its a lifestyle for sure. But upon the desert plains of Tattooine that wandering hermit you see was once a proud Ranger. It may not be a profession anymore but the lifestyle can never be lost, changed or deleted. "

what is contravertial? is that a word?

controversial ??

And drops are drops. If you think about it, getting drops of items "you" can't use allows for profession/class interaction, as you can trade/sell to the class that can use it.
