I only insure my armor as it's the only thing worth anything. I only wear a breast plate though too, so it's really cheap. All of my clothes are at 0 condition, but they still appear to be on me. I don't see a use in BE clothing as my maskscent works in shifts. One day I can mask once and it will last until it wears off, and it'll be like that all day, the next day it'll break on every single enemy I encounter, so I just don't bother.

I wonder, since this has come up, whether I spend more money to insure my stuff after each death than I would spend to have a tailor just make me a bunch of copies of my outfit and simply toss out the damaged ones once they get too damaged... I'm not sure, but I'm starting to get that "just ripped off by SOE" feeling
Here'sa hint. Don't die.

correct me if I'm wrong, but even when a peice of BE clothing is at 0 condition, you still get the mods for it. The only thing effected mod wise is armor.

0 condition mod'd clothes are still wearable and give the mods.
Key word - still
Tailor forum had a piece on this, as they felt they were getting shafted - and rightly so as I can wear 0 condition stuff, so why buy new.
A fix was promised. Dunno when, but bet it's sooner than later.
I hedge my bets, I insure and take missions for stuff that does not DB. Gurrecks excepted, they drop like flies anyhow.

Given that insurance only seems to give an exemption in PvP, that is, get slain in PvE and your insured items decay anyway, do any Rangers bother insuring?

OH yea I do. Yea we get decay in PvE no matter what, but its at least less/slower with insurance. I have a bunch of Ranger clothing, with mask scent and camo mods on them. I have some other BE clothing as well. So yes I insure.

on a PvE death, uninsured items decay 5% of the total condition while insured items only decay 1%... if memory serves me...
yeh, items still decay.. and yeh, some items (like clothing) still work even atno condition (1/1 ?)... but i try to insure - the less the decay the better for me, and just in case i get scanned and killed in the GCW or PvP i'll escape with no decay...
although... i rarely "insure all"... i don't mind if my HTFB decays 5%, as i'll probably be using it soon...

I do, but is takes a LONG time for me to have to reinsure. I always insure all as I have nothing that doesn't need insuring (I don't carry any Ranger supplies anymore
).
