It is with heavy heart that I inform my fellow Rangers that Sneaky Scout has given given up basically all of his Ranger skills. It is really sad for me to do, as all I've wanted to be since the game came out was to be a Ranger. That's why I am a Bothan (for the camo bonus) and why I picked the name I did.
As some of you may know, I've lobbied long and hard to get our profession the respect and attention it deserves. I started a thread that seemed to rally the Rangers and with all of their help as well as input from Calc and Brisc, we finally got some dev attention. I was happy that at least we know he read the posts even if nothing was accomplished by it. Obviously, Rangers are no better off now, than we were months ago.
We aren't high profile like Jedis or Smugglers, and unfortunately, the devs think we are just fine. Every time we ask about what they are going to do for Rangers they tell us it will all be handled in the rebalance. I honestly don't see any positive changes for Rangers for at best 6 more months, and I'm tired of waiting. If and when they ever do improve Ranger and give us even a fraction of what we have been asking for, I'll be the first one back, but until then, I will use those skill points to try new things and see how the other professions feel with the dev attention lavished upon them. To those of you staying, I salute you, and I respect your devotion to the noble profession of Ranger, and your belief in the promises of the devs.

Thanks Calc. I know you probably are, but can you please let the devs know that there are a lot of Rangers moving on? Why they can't even just give us a small hint of what we can expect and when is sad, considering that we have waited more patiently than anyone else. I had the misfortune of being a Ranger and a CH, two of the least important professions to the devs, and it sucks. I still love Ranger, but it makes me mad knowing what we could be if given the chance. Anyway, please pass on those feelings to the devs, because they sure aren't listening to us.

Calc, it tears out my heart seeing you say "Happy Trails..." so many times.
Here's a punchbowl to drown your sorrows for a bit. It's only been used once, so there shouldn't be too much fur in it.

Sorry to see you drop Ranger. Do make sure to stay around in the forums, though. Any thoughts on what you are going to try first?

As we've all said so many times even to ourselves as we watch a Commando/TKA with novice scout out-harvest us per hour: Ranger is a Lifestyle. That means that the people who choose to come through our boards are Rangers whether or not they have the Master Ranger (or even Novice Ranger) tag above their heads.
Please, though you drop the skills that make you an official Ranger, don't drop the community that knows you as a true Ranger.

Thanks for all of the kind words. Even though I may not have all my former Ranger skills, I will still come to this forum and participate in it. In fact, I just brought up Rangers again to TH yesterday in the weekly thread! Right now, I'm trying out Rifleman and I'm still struggling with CH. Rifleman seems to be a nice fit with our Ranger/Scout skills and CH as well. That takes some of the sting out losing Ranger. At least I'm not a Bounty Hunter or a fencer or swordsman like everyone else lol.
