I had originally posted this a long time ago. It's someplace, but I got 3 letters asking how to do it. The lair part Fred had posted, but I knew it anyhow, so it's not stealing, it's borrowing and I glady give Fred credit, as he did post it first.
step 1 - Maskscent. If you don't, forget the rest of the steps. Conceal may work too. I am too lazy to craft kits.
step 2 - Pick out a target. Stand at 60m or so.
step 3 - Engage - THIS IS IMPORTANT - use at least one Healthshot to get a bleed going. THREE shot maximum. PEACE.
Example, my standard set is -Healthshot 2, healthshot 1, stopping shot - PEACE
step 4 - Move back to maybe 75m - 80m. You need to be out of range when the creature aggros.
step 5 - Wait til the bleed kicks in. Lookie there, here comes one aggro.
step 6 - Pop a shot or two, throw a pdart, a sharp bone spur, and move. Oh, creature is slowed and blinded ( 2x trap XP). Funny thing here -
creature will go to where you were, not where you are. You get extra time to shoot at it. Drop it.
If you have a killer droid, make sure that the droid is not on guard. Have droid between you and the creature and you do not get
aggro'd, the droid does.
step 7 - Harvest. Repeat until wave 1 is gone. Shoot lair twice and peace. Dispatch wave 2. Shoot lair until about 1/2 dead. Peace. dispatch
wave 3. Kill lair. Collect credits. Move out and do more missions.
works 90% or better. Babies will follow mommy (?) in if mommy aggros, so watch for that. Use terrain. Even "flat" places have gullies and small hills and using these to your advantage is smart.
I do this method with level 40 missions (gleaming lantern birds, bordoks, blurrgs, crazed gurrecks) on Endor. Yeah, two of the four DB, but I usually only have to heal to regain HAM I use in specials.
If it doesn't work, well, burst run should be a hotkey.

Just one thing I heard they deleted the stacking bleed shots. So if you'd shoot HS2 and then a HS1 only the last would stick. I only heard it, didn't test it, just something you might check out.

Good point Mahdi.
I heard the same thing, that bleeds do not stack. Here to tell ya, I still think they do.
I routinely put two bleeds into stuff. The Devs had stated, or someone did, that only the most effective bleed would stick. I am still seeing two bleeds for damage. The first bleed will trigger the aggro, and while the creature is charging, I usually notice the second one damaging the beastie. (Usually only because half the time, I don't pay attention all that close, I know creature is going down anyhow)
I would wander into the Pistoleer forum to see if they can verify, but I can spell and don't use l33t speek, so I have trouble in there.

I can confirm that HS1 and HS2 do stack. My smuggler's M.O. is to /lowblow, hs2, and hs1 then try to stay alive by whatever means necessary. I had heard that bleeds were no longer stacking and set about to confirm or deny and I would say that myth is Busted, for pistols at least. I haven't yet tried stacking Carbine or Rifle bleeds but I find it hard to imagine there being a differance, but nothing would surprise me.

I'll try tonight if the carbine bleeds still stick. Might even get familiar with those attacks

JB, maybe time to collect and sticky these combat/lair/etc guides?
Seems to be alot of posting and questions around this lately (also other places: game guides)

A variation to use at steps 4-6:
4. Move to the 'territory' of nearby aggresive MOBs and get them between you and healthshot MOB.
5. Wait for bleed and aggro. When the healthshot MOB enters the territory of the aggresive MOBs they will agrro it, provided they are aggresive enough and have a natural animosity towards the intruder.
6. Kill the healthshot MOB (and optionally the tanking MOB) while they fight.
This is cheaper than using pets/droids as tanks. You can also solo higher level creatures as, say, 3 slinking vors are more powerful than any droid. If you feel lucky, you can try aggroing 2-3 MOBs at a time and using area shots to make it work faster.
Last but not least, it requires a higher level of concentration and skill to use effectively so it's simply more fun.
On the stacking of healthshots:
Even if the bleeds don't stack, the initial damage is still there so its best to squeeze as many shots as possible before having to distance yourself. This is especially important if you are hunting relatively low level MOBs as you can skip the tapping/tanking part and finish off the MOB with 1-2 additional shots as it aggroes you at step 5.

It works like a charm for carbine users as well, like me

tested it for carbines and seemed to work.
Shot a merek cavern creeper with AS2 for 108 bleed tick, after that shot him with AS1 for 45 bleed per tick.

hell this idea might make me pick up pistoleer, i use to love using the root/snare traps to keep critters off me, think i'll go back to that, and try this bleed method.
