When the CU hit I was an MBH, and there were a dozen threads up about the "BH boom" and "we;re gonna be the new FOTM" and someone started a thread that ended up being like 20 pages where all the "real" MBH's should sign cause they were better than the new MBH's.

I was an MCH when the revamp hit, and a dozen threads went up about how we don't want to be the new FOTM, and "I'm seeing all these new Novice CH tags and I hate it" and so on and so forth.

I really don't want to see this happen with Ranger. Are there going to be new Rangers? Of course. SOE is introducing new content to the game, and people want to try out that new content. Is someone whomakes MR today better then someone who makes MR tomorrow? And don't give me the "well I ground Ranger the HARD way and I used togo on hunts and blah blah blah." Does having a few more Rangerstake away the value of the fun you had?"The new Rangers are going to give us a bad name!" First off, don't label or judge people until you've seen them. And second, if you think one bad individual or even a hundred bad individuals will tarnish your name then your name must not have been too clean in the first place. If every single Ranger on the sunrunner server turns overnight into a leet-talking, exploiting jerk I'll keep my tags high because I know the behavior and word of my character stand for something different. I don't hold otherrangers accountable for me, and I'm not accountable for other rangers.

I just get a sour feeling in my stomach every time I read about how someone doesn't want the revamp they've been begging for cause it means a Ranger boom, or how "new people will try, but only the REAL Rangers will stick it out." I'd rather see one prof being elitist towards another prof than the members of a prof being elitist slobs towards each other.

Because the ranger community are such solid folks, I just want to say I hope they don't break down to that level like many other professions have when they got some new conent.

You forgot to mention us original rangers who moved on to other things in the game because the profession was borked and now we're coming back because things sound promising. There are a LOT of us.

well POST Ranger-Revamp there will be a clear method to tell the REAL Rangers from the FOTM Rangers

that will be the REAL ones will have the Master Scout badge..the FOTM wont even give Master Scout a second glance.

The MBHs dont have that kind of deliniation between the real ones and the /respecs

Good point.....they already said at the very least they were moving it down to only two trees I doubt that many of the new rangers will have that badge....afterall itll be totally pointless

actualy you could maybe consider those that have master scout badge when bh needed master scout and could even go as far if you want to get technical thos that aslo have hte master marksman badge since bh a while ago needed both master marksman and master scout

And there are those Hologrinders who ground out each profession till they unlocked (pre force village) and either didn't go Jedi or made the alt the Jedi, they too would have a badge collection that may include M Scout &M Ranger.

I agree. While there may be some FOTM action or some people with a respec suddenly becoming rangers, generally what is left after the fad is over are the core group of people who are the profession because they like it. Even with the new items, skills and such we are being afforded, the fact remains that Ranger still will not be a major combat profession even when combined with a master level combatskill like riflemen.

I am not bothered at all by the influx of rangers we will see. Heck maybe there will be a few ranger converts to come out of it.

Trying to figure out what you mean here. I remember when I first mastered BH that I had to do Master Scout and Master Marksman. My BH has the master scout badge.
