Well, I just got a new video card GeForce 6800 GT OC 256. Just moved up from a Ti4600.
So, I been running around trying to see how things look different. Any favorite places or views I should check out that you Rangers like visiting?
Mos Eisley
Overall so far I am really enjoying the graphics alot more. Tattooine is sooo nice now. Corellia doesnt look much different to me. Yavin is even more of a crowded forest yet.. lol. Gonna head to Jabbas Palace to look around some too..

A few places off the top of my head:
Land:
Lake Retreat - Naboo
Massassi Temple - Yavin
Deathstar Remains - Yavin
Theed Waterfalls - Naboo
Ewok Tree Village - Endor
Ewok Lake Village - Endor
Crashed Star Tours Shuttle - Yavin <-- laughed quite hard first time I got this mission, thought it was a joke.
Space:
ISD - Deep Space
Kessel Space

Nice! The new distance rendering looks great too..
I just got that same video card about a month ago, but unfortunately I didn't realize how much it would raise my CPU temp! Didn't take long to figure out all the crashes I was having in SWG weren't related to a recent patch, but to my CPU temp rising to roughly 158 F/60 C.
So, I've been using my other computer since then and can't log in.
Just need to get around to buying a new cooler, arctic silver, and maybe another case if I can't get the cooling problems solved.
Keep posting pics so I can see what's going on in-game.

Have you tried running it with the case open? Maybe with a normal room fan blowing air into the case? It's a crude hack but it might let you use the system until the other stuff arrives.
As for things to go and see, the POIs are a decent place to start. Then just start wandering.

Yeah, good graphics make all the difference tbh. I remember i wasnt playing too much, just playing now and then and spending the rest of the time either hungover or out on the razz but since i got my new rig the game plays like a new game, simply because everything 'looks' starwars.
Maybe im just a sucker for prety graphics

OMG, I'm so jealous now!
I play this game with a GForce 4 Ti-4200 from over 2 years ago (like the rest of my PC)
I think getting a new card would not even do the trick, as I doubt my mainboard 'n all would be on par with a new card. Better start saving for a whole new setup...

With the Tax Return ocming soon I'm starting tho think about a new system myself. I put a new ATI card into my old desktop a few months back, but the change was minimal ... I'm assuming that's because the system is over three years old though.
This will be my first custom built system ... amn am I excited to get started!

Yeah youll have to make sure your agp slot is the optimum rate for the gfx card to realy make the difference. If you have pci express (which you wont because your system is over 3 years old) you wouldnt have a problem.
All the new gfx cards run on AGPx8 so make sure your motherboard supports it.
Ram makes a hell of a difference in this game though.
