The other day I was walking into the Syren mission, concealed, and easily completed it. Incase you haven't tried it out yet (SPOILER) there are a bunch of mercs around it, and it can be fatal to walk in their without being buffed, armored, or a really good fighter. Anyways, there was a smuggler there as well, he was a rebel (I am Imperial), and he asked me how I got in so easily. I explained, and he asked if I could conceal him. I said sure- but for 5K. I really didn;t want to help a rebel on the mission, and figured he wouldnt pay. But he said "ok, cool", tipped me the 5K, and I concealed him.
I walekd a bit away from the crash site and made a macro advertising I was concealing people for 5K- in fifteen minutes, you wouldnt believe how many people showed up. In an hour I hadnearly 100K and, then started getting repeats for people who had gone back to get the next mission. Luckily, I had stockpiled camoflauge kits, since I usually get a bunch so I dont have to go out for more for a while.
Now, this is neaither the fastest nor the most economical way of making cash, but it does get you money if you are a bad fighter (or dont have JTL, which is a big cash maker when you get into higher levels). Also, most of the people I concealed hadnt even known what a ranger could do, and one guy didnt even know the profession existed. Its always good to get the ranger-info out to the community :-D

An Imp Ranger? What is the universe coming to? I dont do concealment. I walk right in and whap the dunkers on the head, and they all fall down, and I stand there amongst dead bodies. My biggest reason not to use concealment are the resources. I dont feel like finding various planet specific resources in very small quantities that are unique only to that conceal pack. That and Mask Scent works better; I just kill off aggro NPC's.

I just started useing Conceal myself and I love it. I'll fly into Theed, hit F7 and Im good to go. Im a novice 2 Handed Swordsmen but I usually am just dropping into deliver hides or Milk or some other resourse and don't want to bother w/ the Stormies. Good idea about money makeing, could take a while to make "good money", but we're Rangers, we don't need that much... ; )

Hehe, I just picked up the first box, and I think that I'll be using it more often now, since I sometimes like to go Combatant but can't stand up to the stormies

Yea, Stormies by themselves is fine. Then they threw in a couple Novas. Still, it's a challenge but fun. But SOE has this thing of overdoing it, and decided to throw Novas in with almost every squad of Stormies. If there's a ST Squad, odds are it has at least 1 Nova.

just so you know, Bio-- you can use any camo kit, even if you can't make it yet. Ask a Master Ranger to make you a crate of each type of camo kit, and you can use it yourself.

Ok im working on Master Rangher and have a question on this concealment thing. Has anyone how well does it work against NPC's? I was a master ranger a long time ago and it didnt work all that well. What I am thinking is Endor and how well it does against the NPC's on that planet. Especially that little bunker up north.

Concealment is not meant for combat- that is, unlike mask scent, it will, as far as I know, break very quickly when you attack. From the way I understand it, the system checks every minute ro so and decides if you cover is broken-- so the longer you stay in the search radius, the more likely you will be found out. Camo is meant, really, to get in and out in a hurry, not to engage the enemy. But then again, this is all me guessing based on my experience.

Well, for those not as mighty as you, there is camo to hide from dangerous NPCs. The lfie of the ranger, I think, is more fit for sneaking then bashing.

I realize that, but i was wondering how far down in the bunker could you make it before being caught by the droids...

2-3 steps maybe? anything like a DJM NPC will break your camo instantly. Mellichae broke my camo as soon as i got within 65m of him.

Beat me to it. Like I said, it is not meant to engage the enemy. The only reason anyone would run that close to the bunker would be to fight, unless you were a total newb and it was a complete accident that you ran into it. I am assuming the devs made the NPCs invulnerable to it so taht we wouldnt get an upper hand in it- afetr all, we aren;t a combat profession.
