Thread: PvP Rescue use/expoit?

Great post, except..... this is wrong.
As a ranger I can rescueany Player, Pet or NPCbeing attacked. If rescue is successful, I am now the target and get hit,this does not allow me to have the first strike, I have already been struck!If I'm lucky and survive I can then attack anyone who has attacked me. I still can not target any other overt, just theplayer who shot at me because of a successful rescue.
Some examples:
#1. I have used rescue on pets and playersand while successful I was never attacked becausetheir attention was distracted by other petsor players before they attacked me. Since I was never attacked, the rescue command does not allow me to do anything. I do have a TEF so any overt could attack me though!
#2. I use rescue on an overt member of my faction. Their current target now targets me.If they are using auto-attack or have a combat action qued up, andthey are not distracted by another player or pet before that action occursthey attack me. Once they attack me I am free to attack them! Only theTHAT playeris red on my radar and I cannot first strike any other Overts, they apear blue on my radar. If I win and DB the overt I can not attack anything untill a nother successful rescue. Again, I do have a TEF flag so any overts could attack me though.
This is not an exploit. It is the rules of the game. An TEF exploit is "a covert playerhaving first strike on an overt player". I as a ranger am using one of my SKILLS to assist my faction just as a covert medic would do. Just so happens, my skill confuses a player into attacking me first, so the covert getting first strike does not happen here. If SOE changes the rules, thats ok. ATM, I am not an exploiter. I use my skills to the good of my faction and If I see our healer getting his ass kicked I'm gonna help him out any way I can. Everything else in your thread was good information I was unaware of, but as far as ranagers are concerned I know a lot. Hope I cleared this up a bit.

And we have been nerfed and the BHs can quit whining. It does work for PCs in combat, and I use it a lot, mainly when it's a quick attack and I can't get grouped in time.
My question is this -- if the game allows it, how can it be an exploit?? Granted, there are errors here and there (standing in the lair and shooting was one, since resolved) but unless and until someone reports them, and they get fixed, I for one will use any and all tools I can, as they are part of the game.

Could'nt the action caused by Rescue be considered PvP content? Is'nt PvP content supposed to be consentual by both parties before you can interfere with their game?
Is it possible that as result of Rescue that a player could be killed by the mob being rescued? Would'nt you consider this PvP?
It seems to me that the SwG intent was to not allow other people to interfere in anothers game without giving consent first, it sounds like Rescue is breaking that intent.
i don't think the use of /resuce is breaking consent at all. The person you'd be attacking after using /rescue would already have consented to PvP by attacking your friend in the first place.
