Thread: Vass: Tracking does not point you in the direction of the creatures

Some extra info for the track command.
AreaTrack gives you a list of the creatures that are nearby. The radius increases as your skill increases, as does the information shown in the window. It does not point youin thedirection of the creatures.

Don't know about you guys, but this by definition doesn't sound like tracking to me. It's the /scanarea command, but it's not tracking.
You can check out the thread here:

/track - Higher up the Tracking tree, the Ranger will earn the /track command. The /track command will let the Ranger specify a specific creature he wants to find. Hunting for a Veermok? If you are in a region where Veermok live, you can /track for one. Tracking a creature will lead the player on a small mission to find a creature in the area (or in the case of a critical success or failure...an unexpected surprise). Whereas scanarea checks for already existing mobs in the area, /track can be used even if a Veermok lair (or whatever creature you want to find) isn't nearby.
/scanarea is now called /areatrack.
hmm...ok.
Just a misunderstanding then.
as long as actual tracking is still in at a particular level.
sorry for the uproar.

WAIT A TICK! What you are descibing as the /track command does not Qualify as TRAKING at all! I have been an Avid EQ player for about 5 years now. I have a Bard (which can TRACK) as well as a Ranger (which obviously can TRACK).
Perhaps you should further elaborate on "will lead you on a small mission to find the creature". But cause if it is just gonna tell you "YES, ther are Critters in this area"? Then you still must be in the RIGHT AREA at the time you use /track. Pretty bloody stupid if you ask ANYONE!!
EQ's TRACKING system, will allow you to specify a specific critter or NPC, and then tell you "(blank) is to the LEFT" or "straight ahead". THAT is tracking!!
If all you are giving us is the /scanarea in two different form, perhaps you should rethink your methodology a bit, and try planger a Ranger yourself to get the Jest of it all.

"The /track command will let the Ranger specify a specific creature he wants to find."
"As you climb the tracking tree, more options and information (like direction and distance)"
Explain to me this sentence then?
Explain why on the TC right now, atTracking 1, you get Direction as a new skill?
