Myself and three friends were on Lok doing some hunting. We came across a Giant Kimogila. Upon examination the beast read to supply 700 units of meat or hide. I was beyond excited to harvest and take a huge chunk out of my last block towards Master Ranger. Needless to say thirty minutes later and a few brief naps (incapped) and healing we take down the monster. I run up, get the radial menu, select Harvest Resources, then Meat and BAM nothing happens. I repeat the steps and again nothing happens. befuddled I attempt once more and there is no 3rd option for harvest, as if someone snagged the harvest before me. I check the inventory, system messages, and the skill box and there is no meat, message, or XP gained.

My friends were all more that 40 meters back and I was the only one there to harvest it. Has this happened to anyone before?

Yup... a few times. If you sit there, clicked on the menu for a good minute it usually pops up. I think it is a lag issue.

It's a bug.

Most of the time it happens to me when I'm running, the critter is in the process of falling or some other change of state.

If it happens once, what I typically do is wait a few seconds, and then try it again. It usually works.

This is very disheartening - I'm sorry bud.

This happens to more species. I was on Dathomir and there is a lizzard type creature (looks like a leguana) that can't be harvested either. Believe me, I killed about 20 of them and they all couldn't be harvested. Other creatures no problem, just that one species.

I think some of the current species are bugged.

It was the luck of the draw. Even though you can check a creature and get a feel for how much you could harvest off of it, not all creatures are "fat and healthy". Some, are sickly and unfortunately don't yield any resources at all. This may not be a bug, just one of the once-in-a-while times when a creature simply doesn't have resources to give. It's random, doesn't happen all the time, but always seams to happen at the worst time.

The lizards you are refering to on Datooine actually have no hide or meat at all. I examined them and they have nothing. They do have a very thick hide though with some remarkable Amor Ratings. I hope this is just an oversight on the devs part, as these things should definitly have scaley hide and/or lizard meat that is harvestable.

K: In regards to the post you had about Lizards on Dathomir (and other planets as well).

Most lizards I have found do not let me harvest them as well. Be sure to loot the lizards, however, as sometimes they have Lizard skin plates used as armor segments.

That is usually what I do with lizards by default now. I have about 8-10 Voritor Lizard plates of very good quality.

And you feel bad? I took down the Kimo all by myself, no pets! No NPC's! and no harvest!

I did get the weapon and combat XP though on a side note...

Oh Man! Dude I'm sorry. Yeah it was myself and three others. Each of us had a Wrix and one guy had a Grand Wrix. It would have taken me three hours to do it by myslef. I have no room to complain thinking about what you said.

I did loot the creature and it didn't drop anything.

If I have lag issues I usually just type /harv meat, /harv hide, or /harv bone. You probably already knew that one but I figured I would mention it.

If this ever happens to you again check your status. I've had this happen myself, but noticed that when it did I was either Blinded, or stunned, or somthing else nasty. It may not be a bug, you may just not be able to butcherblind.

Big, horrible, ugly bug too. A few weeks back it happened to me (also a kimo). Wasn't THAT much of a big deal except the meat was 1000OQ at the time. grrrrr....
