we do have first aid, it is called our higher level tents that have a 1.0 rate. We just have to sit around and lick our wounds.

Takes master medic AND Doc wound treatment speed 4 to get cure poison, I really dont see this as something they are just going to give out.

Bounty hunters are asking for poison and disease as well.

Agreed.

It is on the list to be able to /forage single use herbs for curing poison and disease...

  • However, that is no guarantee we will ever see the ability.

Basic First aid, should be in all professions (Just like Creatures can be used by anybody). We don't need to craft them just use them stim-B's and wound packs. Heck, we can all use Pet-STIMS without all animal knowledge skills at all.

First, there is was a half hearted effort put into Ranger. What Ranger: beit a Park Ranger, Tolkien, or Antarian Ranger goes out into the woods not able to do first aid? If they don't mind giving a Scout Skill to Combat Medic, then why can't we get Pharmacy +5, and the Ability to cure poison. What is the most common source of poison? Animals. We'd still be dependent on Medics to buy the goods. Perhaps foraging will yeild medical treatments when they fix the rare item bug :-(

Wouldn't be so bad to lower the non-CH pet to Diff 10 and give the ranger +5 to pet level, and another +5 at Master Ranger. We'd still need the CH to tame them, and it would be much more logical for a Ranger to have a wild cat than an artisan!!

And I still herald for a "Creature Toughness" akin to the melee toughness brawler's get (but only versus animals). Dev's, please research this in your off time and give us the skills we deserve.

There was a thread recently that suggested that everyone have the ability to use Stim A's (which I agreed with--would love to drop Novice Medic). The responses from the Novice Medics made it pretty clear that taking thier most useful skill and giving it to any (or all) others would break their profession. I changed my opinion after reading it (would still love to drop Novice Medic. But I'd also like to be able to wield a flamethrower )

I have Teras Kasi, and a benefit I get is to be able to self-cure poison, disease, bleeds, and wounds (eventually). Cure poison is a sought-after ability that is in the Doc realm (and TKA, I don't know who else can.) The trade-off here is that I DON'T get a bleed or warning shot or other useful skills. Might be nice to get some usefulness out of forage (herbs to cure sickness) but I don't think we should become Wilderness Medics. That's probably what a Combat Medic is supposed to be, hence Terrain Negotiation modifiers.

I'd also love to hunt with a Rancor at my side, but Rangers are animal-killers, not animal-buddies.Your suggestion would be great (for us) but would still step in the realm of the Creature Handlers. I still hear them complain that their CL levels need to be bumped up a bit. I can see every CH taking Novice Ranger just for the added pet levels, possibly ditching Ranger when they hit Master CH. Or worse yet, imagine a world where every MCH is also a Novice Ranger...
