This post consists of some possible abilties that could be implemented for rangers in general and probably master rangers specifically to give master status more meaning. Most if not all of these abilities I've seen others bring up before but I'm piling this into one list for more specific and detailed discussion. There are many other abilities that have been discussed that i left off simply because they have received plenty of board attention (e.g. ranger weapon). These following abilities have popped up here and there but haven't gotten as much attention (so please discuss :-)):

********

1. Milk is ridiculously scarce and very much needed. Possibly even offered at the scout hunt IV level, /milk needs to be added to this game. This should be an ability that can only be performed on certain tamedfemale animals. One should not be able to walk up to any untamed non-aggro creature because milking any non-aggressive creature in the wild is pretty unrealistic and inmost cases downright ridiculous. But this should be an option for animals that are tamed and possiblyonly oncertain species at that. (Does anyone know if non-ch professions can "drop" petson one's property thereby releasing more space in the datapad for other creatures?)

2. Fish Traps-Again in the spirit of harvesting underused resources, master rangers need to be given the options of utilizing fish traps or at the very least be given a greater and quicker success rate at fishing.

3. Master Rangers should be given the ability to carry more non-ch pets in the inventory.

4. Master Rangers should be allowed to use 2 non-ch pets at once.

5. Further /areatrack distance than Hunt Master !!!!!!

6. Harvesting Resources<- Greater yield or give us multiple resources to harvest at once for the Master level (This is been discussed alot before but come on this HAS to be implemented and is my biggest pet peeve.)

Please discuss and add on more...

1. Milk. I have seen it dropped one time, by a swooper or meatlump. Make it loot on animals or a harvestable resource. But don't expect me to become a milk maid anytime soon.

2. Fishtraps, yeah ok. Another money maker, helps out the BEs again. Again, I am not doing this, boring.

3. I got two, can use one at a time. This is CH land. No opinion, other than leave the pets to those who want em, the CHs. Rangers have no special abilities/affinities with animals.

4. See above.

5. A one klick circle is pretty darn big. How far out do you want to see anyhow... as the good stuff does not spawn til you get near it??

6. Master Rangers should be able to harvest two resources from any one animal. The choice stuff isa pain, do I want meat for the Doc or hide for the Tailor. Masters should be able to harvest two, one of the few perks we get for sticking it out.

7. Um... uhhhh.... nothing that has not been beat to death already.

One thing tho, the Devs ever put a waypoint into use for areatrack, I will personally find them and make them suffer. If you are that darn dumb, gobe a BH, the snitches are labelled so you can find em.

here's one...

give the rangers the ability to appraise harvests. By typing /appraise meat, the ranger can see what the stats on meat are to decide whether its worth harvesting or whether to look for a higher quality harvest to go after.

you'd have one for each harvest... hide / meat / bone.

"give the rangers the ability to appraise harvests."

That one is on the request list.

Nobody (not even a Creature Handler) can drop a pet on property. The pets you see in people's houses are untamed animal deeds created by a Bio-Engineer. In the case of droids, it's simply the droid chasis.

Everything sounds ok, but FFS leave CH out of our requests. I'd rather fill that slot with something unique. We are not 1/2 assed CH's and I dont want to become one. If you want to be a CH, grab some CH skill.

How about some PvP value to the class? Say, similar to how an overt ranger can purchase faction toys from camps, why not let him/her and others declare/undeclare within the HTFB?

The Master Ranger must be declared in order to set up a base with a "comm station" to the recruiter. At this point, others of that faction can come to the base and declare, undelcare. This will allow other factions to come into cities undeclared, meet with a Ranger who set up outside of town, declare, pull out pets, etc. then Invade.

The Ranger being declared is a must. That way, the Ranger can't be with the invaders, he must either port into town and risk getting killed before leaving town, or, as rangers do, run to the outskirts of the opposing faction city, set up, send a waypoint and hope no one sees him before his buddies arrive. He can, however, undeclare if he so chooses, but the standard 1 hour wait still applies.

Just a thought.
