Zekk,

I can handle death decay, but incap decay is going to be a real pain in the butt.

There are a few correspondents who are working hard to have them rethink that.

Agreed. I don't know what they were thinking with incap decay.

Are they going to decay everything in your inv or just
equipped items that arent insured?

At the moment everything in your inventory that is not a resource container is decayed (even my special edition goggles ).

  • If you insure the item, decay is avoided on incapacitation for those items.

I believe insurance lasts until you clone... So insurance will last multiple incaps in the field.

  • Still I find it irritating.

Oh Joy, Incapped Item Decay.
I can see it now
You can't burst run Incapped
You have been Incapped by a Nuna.

Nuna warps on to my head when I'm prone and under cover, try to stand get melee rifle damage mod, switch to pistol awe too late.

So Not only am a a ranger Pack rat, with traps and hides and all sorts of other goodies (90%) of inventory Filled.

Now I get Item decay on things because I trip on a nuna?

I'm of the anti-incap decay mindset.

I have no qualms about decay on death -- even significant decay.

On test center, how much is insurance running? I heard it was related to the complexity of the item you were insuring -- thus, a heavily experimented item could potentially cost way more to insure than it did to purchase.

I'm glad to hear the correspondents are trying to persuade them against incap decay.

I would like to add my voice to those who oppose encap decay.

When they fix things like the warping mobs, or the magical beast like swarming lessor dewback that can magicaly build a lair and populate it with their herd 5m behind me without me even noticing in 3 seconds. Then and only then will I be willing to accept the decay. I have no problem with a penalty for dieing if its my fault, heck i wouldnt even complain if it rarely happened because of a glich in the game. But as it is now it happens WAY to much and its the programming not me. As for incaps that is just plain stupid.

In response to Glaza-X: If you get incapacitated by a nuna as a ranger (meaning you've obviously been around long enough to work up some semblance of self-defense skills), you deserve to have decayed items. jk man

But in response to the thread: I do believe the incap decay idea will not last. You don't suffer wound penalties when you get incapped... just when you clone at an un-"binded" facility. Same should go for if you don't have insured items. If you don't, then decay them once you're cloned. Sounds fair to me. But there's no reason to appy it to incapacitation (that I can think of anyway... but I think the holocron/fs system is a friggin' joke right now, so I'm obviously not on the same page ).

Back in the beta days, when insurance and death worked somewhat, you would have the option to insure any item you wanted. You could "Insure All" for what was, back then and still now, a huge chunk of change (hopefully this will change), or you could select single items to insure. If you didn't insure the item, your death and cloning would result in everything not insured being left on your corpse (which was a skeleton; your datapad was loaded with a waypoint to said skeleton), and everything insured would be on your person at the time of being cloned. You could then proceed to your corpse, loot everything off it, and be on your merry way.

So hopefully they'll manage something out of this. I actually understand the reason to have this decay in place, and I even agree with it. It will, thankfully, put an end to the current pvp system of "clone wars" and actually require attackers and defenders to work out some sort of tactics.

But, we'll see how it goes. Hopefully they've got insurance and item-retrieval-from-corpse all fixed and working now.

btw If you have never experianced the take cover walk bug (finally fixed) or the 12 second to kneel and stand equip another weapon. Then try it some time Its more of a reflection on some of the oddities that strike us from time to time.

If I could change somethings I would, I some times have to hang my head in shame because I'm walking home after 2 hours on Endor only to get killedby3 mummer thugs that spawn around me 100m from a shuttle port. I can take em down normally but there are days when lag and melee damage get the better of me.

"the take cover walk bug (finally fixed)"

Cool... Can I remove it from the list now?

As to my thought on it, is this is a really bad idea, especially incap. I can live with a deathdecay, not nealryas high a percentage as it is now.I know many many people if this goes into affect may quite.
