Thread: Scout Creatures.
"Has anyone else noticed that some creatures have Scout behind the names of them now? Does anyone know what the significance of this is?"
(Scout) creatures will apparently run back to the herd and call for assistance from the rest of the packwhen you attack them. ![]()
"but what's the point of having scout creatures if 90% of creatures always bring a friend anyway?"
Example:
A herd of 4 Kaadu...1 Female (non-Scout), 1 Female (Scout), 1 Male (non-Scout), 1 Male (Scout).
Scenario 1:
- Attack the 1 Female (non-Scout)
- The two Males will assist the Female and attack you (if they are close enough to notice)
Scenario 2:
- Attack the 1 Female (Scout)
- The two Males will assist the Female, and so will the other Female
Scenario 3:
- Attack the 1 Male (non-Scout)
- The other Male will assist the Male (if he is close enough to notice)
Scenario 4:
- Attack the 1 Male (Scout)
- The other Male will assist the Male, and so will the 2 Females
----
A Ranger should be capable enough to determine the best course of action for taking down all four animals without causing a swarm. ![]()
The case I gave has two Scouts in it, and isa worst case Scenario...
- Aplayer could take down the two non-scouts, but attacking one or the other Scout is going to cause an assist on the other.
The best course of action:
- Take down the Male (non-scout) when he wanders far enough away from the other Male.
- Take down the Female (non-scout) when she wanders far enough away from theremaining Male.
- Take downthe Male (scout)... If you're lucky the Female may not notice the scout assist call.
- Take down the final Female (scout)... By this time there are no more members of the herd left, so the scout assist call will go unheard.
As you can see... Tactics are very much a part of evading social creatures. ![]()
