A Novice Ranger asked me if he could use a camo kit for a planet even though he could not make that particular kit yet.

At the time, I had no kits on me other than Corellia, Naboo and Tatooine, all kits he could make and use. I didn't know the answer, but told him I would post and find out.

Anyone got an answer?

As a funny, he asked if he could have a kit for Lok. Like I have even attempted to find Lokian domestic meat.

As a Novice Ranger (assuming that's all he had) he would be unable to use any Cammo kits as he wouldn't have the /conceal command.

Now, as long as he has at least Wayfaring I, then I think he would be able to use ANY cammo kit as they don't have certifications. He just can't make every cammo kit. However, since he has a very low conceal modifier, they wouldn't be very good.

ah yes, but camps don't have certifications either. If a lesser skilled Ranger on Starsider wants to test it out, I just made some dathomir kits today I could part with one.

As far as camps are concerned (not sure about camo kits), you can use one higher than what you can make. I read something awhile back where some people on Naritus tested it out.

Camps and Traps run off the player's Camp and Trap skill modifiers.

It is possible to use the Camp or Trap on the level above your current skill.

Namely Master Scout can deploy the High Quality Camp kit if they bought one from a Ranger.

As for Camo kits... I have no personal experience with using ones that I could not make myself.
