From the Dev Chat on stratics a few moments ago:
[Avian]Warnel* Pets are slow when moving up hills, will mount use the terrain skills of their owner to help them keep a strong pace going up mountains?
Answer
They won't use the terrain skills of the owner, no.
Oh well.

I think you are missing the point...Our Terrain skills will be useful to us still....Its a good thing that mounts are slow on an uphill run. Our ability to run uphill in nothing flat prevails which still keeps us intact. We will basically be faster than the mounts. Super Ranger to the rescue with his winged boots of speed.

"Our Terrain skills will be useful to us still....Its a good thing that mounts are slow on an uphill run."
Agreed...
The primary concern was that Mounts would equal Scouts in climbing ability...
- However, by the looks of it,the developers implemented Mounts with little climbing ability, giving the unmounted Scout the advantage.
I see new tactics forming with this addition...
- Mounted players could run down unmounted players on the plains...
- But once they hit the hills, the Climb bonus kicks in for those walking.

Any idea if Squad Leader group terrain negotiation will effect mounts? I just started dabbling in SL and I'm wondering if the terrain bonus they get for groups would work on our mounts...
