Verious forms of this grievence has been stated but I do agree, we (rangers) should be getting more, as well as multiple resources (why would be not be able to use the bone after getting the hide??? Just silly imho...)

When I want to harvest a lot, but need a pet to help, I don't group. Why group? No bonus, and I am not a CH, so who cares if the pet kills the stuff or not, no XP there. I get pistol XP only on kills, so I am not losing there... well, the group XP bonus, big deal, not worth it to lose 40% of some harvests. The pet is a tank mainly, and expendable to a point. So no group, and better harvests.

well there is definetly a difference, i am 3 1 4 0 in ranger and my friend is a scout4 0 4 0 or something like that. anyway we were killing a bunch of things on Yavin and in the end he had gotten 700 meat and i had gotten 1100 and we both harvested all the creautes... so there is defiently a difference.

I'm working on being a Master Ranger with my 2nd char on the Intrepid
server. I'm 3,0,3,0 on the Ranger tree right now and I noticed that I
was getting the same amount of harvesting as I was with my 2nd char
which only has hunting 4. Well that did not seem right since how I have 25
more points to creature harvesting so I keep asking all the Rangers I
could find, What could I be doing wrong?. All though they tried none
could help. I went to a friends house and got both my accounts on at the
same time and just keep experimenting till I found a answer.

The answer is when I have my pet grouped up with me I get only about
1/2 of the harvesting. This is the same problem they fixed with the last
patch where when you did Rebel/Imp missions with your pet in the group,
you almost never got any loot because of the auto split loot.

I know that this is going to get fixed just like the other got fixed
because I know that my pet does not need all that harvested stuff
for any thing. I've tried to tell the pet to let me know where he is
keeping all of it but he is not responding. Maby I need tracking 4 to
be able to find it.

Anyways I hope this issue is going to be resolved soon.

Okay, have known about the grouped with pets thing for awhile, but I often receive /tells from master scouts hunting the same thing as me, and there really isnt that great of a difference in units per kill on the lower level creatures. The higher the cretures level, the more the difference shows up, but even so, it only adds up to about 20-25% more per kill, when according to my creature harvest skill it is almost double what a master scout gets.
And so far as the grouping thing goes, I recently hired out to gather avian meat for a doc. Grouped, and with both of us harvesting, we got less than I could have gotten solo, but the kills were easier and quicker. So I suppose it evened out in the long run. Less units per harvest, but a much higher kill vs time ratio. And as far as pets go, I never group them unless i am grouped with other players, it just slows down my harvesting.

Ps In example above was hunting all forms of virvurs on rori for avian meat, on bloodfin, OQ 999. Gathered 5.5K units in about 5 hours, using a combination of mission terminals, areatrack, and just plain old luck. And a little over half that time, was solo.
