Thread: Increase in Assistive Pack Creatures
It's you Squid, the Devs hate you personally, and are out to get you. Quick, become a Hairdresser and your worries are over.
Ok, kidding aside... You are correct, and it's been noted and posted in the forums. Bad thing, we are all calling it something different and it's tough to search for as there is no common name for it, other than BAF (bring a friend).
Anyhow, yeah, previously solo creatures are now social. Thetitle of "scout" on an animal means you shoot it first, the entire pack comes running to help. Save scouts til last.
I noticed it on grondas and hambabas, had to change tactics to solo them again.

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that it seems more creatures now are assistive then used to be? A fellow ranger friend of mine was discussing that with me last night and after thinking about it I have been experiencing that now it seems. I'm on Lok so I know most things are agro and usually assistive. He was hunting Female Snorbals, and I was for a while with him, and they would not assist when attacking one. We could take down any femail version of them and be fine from all the other of the lair. Yesterday he kept getting packed on by all of them.
He moved to Naboo and did some hunting there where it seemed more animals then before are now assistive. I asked if he had tried all sorts, and even some low levels. Again, I don't have a confirmation but wondering if anyone else has noticed any change.
I know they said a change should be put in Tuesday to solve the "No animals Spawns in the wild of advanced planets" issue. My thought was maybe that change got put in, and it had some inadvertant effect on the assistive trait of creatures.
My experience so far hasbeen that Scouts do not affect the social assist of MOBs (they all BAF now). Rather, if you target a (scout) it will run to the lair (if you do not kill it quickly) and "call for help," i.e. more MOBs spawn.. same effect as shooting the lair. This is very noticable to meas a Rifleman since most MOBs run right at my blazing T-21 knowing that, as they close, the big scary rifle is useless and they can hit me hard.... very smart rabbits with big, gnashing teeth.... time for the Holy Hand Grenade!
I try to save the (scout)s for last to keep some small amount of crowd control.

Still, Ican't see big herbivorous creatures like fambassocially assisting each otherin the wild. They most likely have brains the size of walnuts, and would probably scatter if they heard gunfire, like other herb creatures (deer, giraffes, sloths). Then again, what the hell am I talking about? This isn't real life, lol.

Imagine how funny it was to attack a Swamp humbaba and all 7 of its buddies
assisted it.
Nearly soiled my armor
is you use to could lie prone and get off 3 shots before the creature attacks you .
now if you lie prone you still get the three free shots
at the targted creature .
but after the first shot all his buddies are coming right for ya .
while the targeted creature stands in the back ground .
"but after the first shot all his buddies are coming right for ya ."
"while the targeted creature stands in the back ground . "
A fix is in the works for exactly that problem. ![]()
This is great news!!! I may actually be able to use the prone position again. Of course I have to stand in the same spot for 10 seconds or it will warp me back to where I was 10 seconds earlier. Funny that kneel doesn't do that...
Thanks,

Hello Folks,
Several, previously non-baf, critters are now social. Except for a certain few, all those critters are still easy to pull 1 at a time.
The easiest is with a pet of any sort. Even with the future CL10 cap, it's still a non-issue.Place yourself 70 meters away, target a critter and send pet in. Here's the trick, before the pet actually hits, the "friend" will engage the pet. Call the pet back to you before it hits your first target, and you only get the friend. It works on most creatures. I use this on Dathomir every night.
Another system, for those without any pet, is traps. (But as you all know, they don't always work.) Unequip a ranged weapon to be safe, throw a slow or snare trap, run back to 70-80 meters, equip weapon and target the add.
For those other critters that swarm you, it's just taking the time to see which ones cause it.Bantha's for instance do'nt all attack, except if fighting near the Matriarch. On Dathomir, the Bolma's will swarm you, but only if pulling the Alpha, or fighting near it.
