Thread: Pack Animals for Rangers

Has anyone suggested this? I looked for it, but didn't see it.

Anyway, since we're basically big resource collecting machines, I think we could use some good pack animals. If I could just stick a few thousand units of hide, bone, and meat on the back of an eopie and have it follow me, it'd save me alot of hassle. It doesn't need to know how to fight, or be mountable, or anything else. It just needs to follow me.

And it really should have lots of gear and sacks tied it, like the Banthas you see in towns.

NRaas has said on the SotP:

  • Pack Animals

    • Many Rangers have requested more storage room. This suggestion appears to be the most intriguing.
    • The creatures could work like Storage Droids, with an inventory for storing stuff
    • A Creature Handler would need to train the specified creature to enable the ability
    • Request for a tailor made saddle bag

      • Such a bag would be used on a creature trained as a pack animal to produce the storage capacity
      • The saddle bag would be restricted to carrying only resource containers

  • Request to have a bonus to the Creature Handler Level over the +10 available for non-CH characters.

    • +1 CL level at Novice, +1 for each level of Tracking, +1 at Master, for a total of +15 CL without any CH skills

This IS and awesome idea. Maybe limit pack animals to banthas or some other 4 legged critter. Awesome...........The storage issue is quite the issue at times.

Thanks Dyrwen... Do you people ever sleep?

    On a different note:

Dyrwen, something in your signature is forcing the forum pages to increase in size beyond 800x600 on my screen, forcing me to scroll back and forth to read your (and other) posts.

Is there anything you could do to fix that? Pretty please? With maple sugar on top?

Is that what causes that?!?!?!!?!? I always wondered why that was happeneing. First off Drywen, tell Nraas to get it together and up his Resolution to 1024x768. Are you living in the stone age??? Anyway, now that I know why that happens, I will let people know what a pain it is. BTW, Drywen, your sig looks fine on my computer..can you geuss what my resolution is? (I am beligerent lately...hmmmmm)

Actually, the problem is I use a Lazy Boy recliner which puts me about six feet away from the screen, so I use a smaller resolution to increase the size of the font.

Obviously, I play the game itself on a higher resolution.

    I love it!

Also, I posted an idea sometime ago to add storage/cargo boxes to speeders.

You could have Crafters make and sell them / they could see monted on you speeder (ceritan storage or cargo boxes buy speeder type) so x34 cound have more room that a swoop and they would slow the speeder down some (to apply a downside to the mod).

I like to use mounts more however, it be cool to have a offroad "Ranger Rover" look to my x34, bit slower but will hold my gear (guns, camps, harvest) till I get back to a town to sell.

    Thanks,

It's probably my "Ranger Truth" that does it on your coughPOScough resolution. I'll remove that.

And no, I don't sleep, least not willingly.

Nope... Still pooched. It might be your special horizontal line made of '~' that is causing the problem.
