I know its a wacked ability and get you killed, and is hard to use.

My friend and fellow ranger Oxran informed me how he uses it. And being TKM he doesn't get killed by it. I have setup this macro and added the trap part myself

first you need to target the person that needs to be rescued. You can do this by pressing CTRL+(number 1-0) on number row. Or just clicking on them in your group list.

Then hit your rescue marco, which you can setup to use the same icon.

/shout I am trying to rescue you %TT , so hitPEACE now. ; /pause 1; /rescue; pause 1; /assist; /ui action toolbarSlotXX

This makes you shout out that they need to hit peace. Then the /assist moves you to what they are targetting. The /ui command presses a hotbar button. I have mine setup to press the one I keep Adhesive Mesh traps in. This will help keep you safe from the creature attacking you instantly. Now I know the first part of the command work with the /shout, pause, and rescue. The rest of it is new that I added and have not had much opportunity to fully test. But it seems to work. Good luck

use /tt

"tell target"sends a tell to the person you currently have targeted. Very useful when you don't feel like typing someone's long, leet-speak name also.

The Adhesive Mesh trap is a great idea Teranus.

Great to post this. It's similar to the one that I use but kudos to you for posting it here for anyone that hasn't thought of it so far.

Is there any Survival XP or other provided with the use of Rescue? Or is it just combat xp that results? Thanks.

Thanks toSquidwalker for this. I often hunt with my doctor pal, and with just the two of us and my pet, it is more important to keep him up than it is me. Neither one of us is exactly ... good ... at combat ( I know, I know, a (near) Master Ranger and a Master Doctor should be able to take out mutant enraged greater canyon emperor ravagers, but we still have some to learn...), so I rely on him to pull me back from incap and he relys on me to get the nasty beasties off of him.

I really like the part aboutshouting athim to /peace. I think I'll add a little 'You want to fight? Then fight ME!' aimed at the creature for flavor.

I think I like the /rescue command for saving your friends even better than my old method for saving my friends, that being /firelightningsingle2. I still miss that LLC, though...

So I used this macro the other night on Yavin. My buddy (a BH sheesh)

Anyway because he's a big bad BH, he runs into a pile of insects, the really nasty poison ones and sprays them with his LLC. He gets over run quickly and is stimming himself like crazy. He hasnt figured out to let the tkm tank for him. I hang out and watch him get chewed on for a while.

I have this rescue macro hot-keyed, so I use it, all of a sudden, 6 of them come charging me leaving this half-digested BH staring at me as I calmly trap-kill, trap-kill the critters. Traps and center of being...beautiful thing. Finally the threat is gone and hes at full health.

The first thing he says is and I quote "dude macro was gay, why u tell me to peace and why they argo u?" (Firstly bad grammar aside, this is a direct quote, and I am assuming when he said "argo" he meant aggro and not the legendary ship Jason and the Argonauts piloted)

I told him about the rescue ability and I told him that I actually prevented him from dying. Again, another direct quote, "dude ur so gay I was totally pwning them".

He then proceeded to tap the lair. 5 of them came out and aggroed him. I stood and watched him. They killed him in less than 10 seconds. They db'd him and I went on to finish off the critters. He then started spewing his half baked logic about how BH's should be nigh invulnerable etc, etc. Dont think I'll be hunting with him much again...maybe I should send him to ranger-freds school on attacking lairs
