Hi guys.

I'm a Combat medic who's switching over to Ranger for a change of pace, and because it was another of those professions I always wanted to try out when I first started the game.

Anyhow, righ tnow I'm playing with some of the Scout skills, and was wondering what the +Forage will do for me once I get into Ranger. Better chance to successfully forage? Better quality items foraged?

Is all this foraged food worth anything? Any way to unload it without having to destroy it all?

Thanks for any help guys!

My experience has actually been that I've gotten much *worse* at foraging as I've gone up the ranger tree. As a master scout you can forage really well. The first 2 boxes of the ranger tree I didn't notice much of a difference from master scout. You get the exact same forageables, and you get them nearly every time you forage. But after getting that 3rd box in camping now I'm almost worthless at foraging. Now everytime I forage I either get nothing, or I get that blasted message that "some foraged items were discarded because your inventory was full" even when my inventory has plenty of room left in it.

Anyhow, as far as the value of the forageables. They do have some value. When I used to run a high traffic mall near Coronet I had a vendor full of scout/ranger supplies and I dumped lots of these things in the vendor and sold them for 200cr/ea. They did sell, not exactly a hot seller, but they moved. The fishing bait I think is of particular value because non-scouts must buy this from scouts if they wish to fish. At least the first time before they can get grub bait.

Well, I'm not far enough to see a change in results, but as far as value goes ive been able to seel some of teh stuff to chefs in bulk. And yesterday I milked a fambaa and got 100+ units of milk!!! that stuff is needed by chefs pluss you can use the food you forage for your own buffs, so thats always nice.

Foraging and milking have nothing in common. Foraging is a scout/ranger skill, milking can by done by anyone and there is no increase in amount even if you have good hunting skills.

Has anyone noticed the FIlling of foraged goods is huge? Its something like about 75. This is crazy-high. Too bad too, as some of the stuff we get is kinda useful, even if one-shot. I also undertsand they are gonna be fixing the "inventory full" thing in P7 or P8. Filling on foraged goods shoudl be scaled the same a Chef foods, with the rare chance of getting something great, like a 3 stat buff of 600 for 30 minutes.

Jedi will never be a starting profession...Looted items and quest items will never be better then crafted items, this is not a loot based game...CH will return shortly...CH and BE will not be back in game...Rangers are getting their revamp next!...The stealth system will not be changing in the spy expertise...Need any more examples of things the devs said that did not hold true?

It isn't that long.... i swear when i am on an onion binge that it is only 5 minutes or so between eats. combine that with a little brandy (mmmm now that sounds like killer breath) and you are golden

The foraged food that I use all the time are the onions. don't get them all that often so when i do i horde them away. something like +300 mind for 60 seconds, and you can eat another one in couple of minutes... great for the ranger rifleman. the rest i keep for my pets, but do end up destroying most.

The things that I have found about most foraged foods, is that they don't stay in your stomache as long as chef foods. This makes them good in that aspect. I have seen onions on the Endor bazaar, and from what I hear the sell pretty quickly.

The onions are +500 mind.

The thing that I think kills most of the usefulness for foraged food is that eating it fills your stomach over halfway for a minimal effect and then you can't eat anything else for a long time.
