I logged on to TC-EP3 and all of my weapon certs are gone. Each weapon has a level assigned to it. You need to be at that level to equip it. I am level 17 and as a 1010 rifleman had an E11 cert. Now I have to wait until I am at level 22 to use it. The T21, among other rifles, you did get at master rifleman, now you need level 54. Will we, as single elite combat profession holders, be able to even reach level 54? I know they say we will get level increases for scout and ranger but.....Well, I'm worried.

By the way, with this new system, I am able to equip an E11 carbine tho I have no carbine skills.

Single Master Elite Combat seems to be around 75. And, now that Scout/Ranger skills are going to count towards CL, I think we don't need to worry so much anyway (although very good to check).

As for the exact certs, supposedly they are still bugged (check recent Dev posts). It is a test server, after all.

The dev chat reveled that *some* weapons would be CL certed.

So that seems like just beta weird ness. They are probably doing that to figured out what ones they want to throw into that pool.

The major problem with this is it goes completely against their stated goals. It is going to once again blurr any distinctions, and the need to have balanced groups for effective fighting of mid to upper level creatures and npcs, and it will blurr the need for careful balance, startegy and tactics for PvP, so I really do not understand this move of theirs, but hopefully they have more to come that will bring these things back again which the CU was doing.

As to hurting Rangers, actually this for the most part bad move for groups and combat will actually benefit us since we are not classified as a combat profession (Lol when as the last time you didn't fight a Krayt Dragon but tickled him to death). We at the moment will be able to use any weapons in the game, supposedly with some damage mitigation, but so far I have not seen that at all yet. Since if you master Ranger then you will only have enough to master one so-called "combat profession". So if you make level 54 which I believe you can do with mastering only one so-called "combat profession" I believe you will be able to use any weapon ranged or otherwise in the game (at least I have not yet seen one that is over combat level 54, but there might be as I have not looked at all the weapons yet).

You understand that the ability to use any weapoin that is on TC currently is a bug, right Jolandir? Several people have responded to you about this on different threads but I am not sure you have had a chance to check them yet.

I had to double check to make sure this was public... good news, it is.

Check out this thread for posts from Helios which go into details.

As it stands many weapons are certed to boxes (probably CL as well) what this means is that the T21 will be a Master Rifleman only weapon. Similarly, most if not all of the Commando weapons will be commando only.

Helios refers to there being a series of bugs that are currently allowing the weapons to be used incorrectly. What that means is that right now, you may be eligible for something which you can't use.

Similarly, you may be using something which you're not eligible for.

Have no fear though things are in transition and hopefully will be getting fixed sooner than later.

There are two things you should do.

  1. Check your combat professions board to see if its been recognized as a bug and bring it up if it hasn't.

  2. /bug it in game.

As we have learned, that's the way to get things changed.
