The other night, while fiddling around with the tube's bunny ears in my room, I managed by some freak occurance to get the Discovery Channel. With my internet connection down and nohing else to do, I decided to watch it.

And lo, I see that the next show is about Rangers in Kenya. As I watched I got a new view on Rangers.

The show discussed how the Rangers were not like park Rangers you might find in the U.S.- these Rangers were not only expert hunters, trackers, and survivors, but also were trained by the military to fight poachers. Poaching in the U.S means a guy with a shotgun shooting deer from his porch out-of-season, but in Kenya it is apparently more towards a bunch of guys with automatic weapons riding around and shooting anything they see that might draw in profit- particularly elephants, for tusk ivory.

Anyways, just thought it was a new spin on things and I believe it is the best real-life ranger parallel I have seen before. we have been compared to elite military forces, dirty orc-fighting mideival heroes (Aragorn, LotR), and other such entities, but this particular type of ranger seems the most even blend of hunter and fighter.

And the best part waas when I got to see them pitcha tent Could have sworn it was the exact same setup as the basic camp at novice scout.

Gledako Fo'Kray- Retired Master Ranger
Encoded until further notice!
Proud Captain of the YT1300 Vasarian Escape- Confirmed Stats from Last Battle- at least 3 kills, 5 disables, 2 spacebombs to the rear shielding and 4 snubs to take us down. Go crew!
Current one-on-one win-loss ratio for the Escape and her Crew- 11:1

Hush, don't let the devs hear you, otherwise they'd take away our beloved HTFB
