Can anyone think of a valid reason why the thread was locked?
Or is two professions enjoying a bit of a laugh together against SOE policy?

QFE and good question. My guess is someone saw the title of the post, didn't bother to actually stop and read it to see that it was a friendly joke between Rangers and Smugglers and just reported it as abuse.
Edit: Starts the countdown to the same thing happening with this thread.

I am going to post the PM I sent to the Angus here. While the thread may have been an innocent joke (and I believe it probably was), it was probably locked for 3 reasons:
1. (Main reason) it's spam that has little do to with mechanics of being a Ranger. Posters in the profession forums should stick mostly to posting questions, guides, etc. Things that actually have to do with the way the profession works in the game.
2. It may have been looked at as a troll (there is always a lot of cross-forum trolling going on between professions and galaxies.
3. I know the "beer and pie" is innocent, butsome posts mentioning consumption of alcohol are removed (depending on context).

Um... You're probably gonna have to delete most every post in the smuggler forums for the last 10+ pages or so... they all have some mention of beer and pie in them somewhere...

Then perhaps you should tell the Devs to take beer out of the game... because guess what... IT'S IN THERE!
Seriously. Mods should spend 99% of their time in the BH and Jedi forums because that's where the vast majority of posts that need to me locked and deleted are.

I didn't say it was locked because anyone said "beer and pie". If that was the case, it would have been removed, not locked. Be sure not to miss the "(main reason)" section in there. It was spam, it was locked.
