Well, I was a TKM/Master Ranger BEFORE the CU. I really can't speak for TKM after the CU, but there are some definite perks to TKM. AS a TKM, you have innate armor and high melee defense mods. YOu can also heal your own wounds and buff yourself (as well as a doctor can buff you, but for a shorter period of time, I THINK). Now, I am a hair biased towards leezards, but the species does have innate bonuses to Harvesting and melee damage and speed (?), so it makes a great species to be both a TKM and a Ranger.

So, as long as TKM is offensively powerful enough for your tastes, I would say it should be wondreful setup.

As a TKM Ranger, your base combat skills are that of a TKM. Which is amazingly good, if you're smart.

You are a Ranger, so therefore, You are obviously smart. Therefore, I can obviously not chose the whine in front of you!

As a TKM/MCH, I was able to tank the gorax to half its life. Note, this was just as a TKM. Had I had some doc buffs, Ranger traps, or played a bit smarter, I mightve been able to kill it.

It certainly *can* be done, to some profficiency. You wont be uber in combat, but you wont suck. And frankly, you'll be 100% self sufficient, aside from stimpacks/food, which arent even 100% neccesary.

Should you get food, I reccomend:

Scrimpi (+200 action regen, about 15 minutes, and about +394 health regen I believe)
Neutron pixie (+10% or 20% action/health regen, cant remember which)
Ruby Bliel
Rakarirran Burnout Sauce (+90 or so Unarmed Damage, very nice)

These, along with powerboost, and CoB, can turn a battle from a narrow defeat to a marginal victory.

The template of TKM/Ranger is just as possible now as it was Pre-CU, if not moreso

i was a tkm/mr before the cu as well and absolutely loved my template. post-cu, though, i ended up dropping tk for rifles and i'm very glad i did. while the innate armor is wonderful, and the abilities to heal yourself and buff yourself are great as well, the damage output is horrible and you can't really keep anything aggro'd on you, which sort of defeats the purpose of you being a tank. as a rifleman, i've found that i can typically kill things before they get anywhere near me, thus there's no need for a tank.

but that's just my $.02.

Yeah was TK-ranger pre-CU and it was great. Post-CU it sucked. Like Screechez said damage out putis pathetic. The specials were not that great either. The best special you have is from the line in unarmed in Brawler. I dropped it and went back to rifles.
