hmm, maybe the devs should take a look at the maskscent XP? I found it incredibly too easy last night to acumulate xp on dathomir last night.

Keep running through aggro mobs. run thru a lair of 8 Giant Baznitches, 105 xp each.

Going to try the rancors and grauls tonight.

Might be something that needs fixing. Animals seem to be able see farther now too, so it's difficultto split two spawns without getting at least 500 xp from it.

I agree! I got around 9k in 10 mins on Dath with /conceal. Way too fast. Getting master ranger just became trivial.

Looks like maskscent is broken... a novice scout can maskscent better than a master ranger... thats why you're getting good EXP... If you actually need exp, (i.e. you're not Wayfaring/Tracking IV) then you SHOULD have been detected by those high level mobs.

The last time I looked even Master Rangers had the abilities of a Novice Scout. Just because you have attained Master level doesn't mean you still don't have those scouting abilities. And why are you complaining about receiving 9K xp from a MoB on Dathomir of all places. It isn't an easy place to roam around so I doubt you see a TON of newbs running around. This boardis full of complaints about how HARD it is to get resources for camo and now people are complaining because something is EASY. <shakes head>.

MAybe you've been missing the posts, but masters are stating their maskscent is failing more often than novice rangers. Especially against the weakest aggro creatures.

I can confirm this. I was in a group with 4 scouts, 2 masters and 2 novice last night. I'm a Ranger with Wayfaring II. My Mask Scent broke MUCH MORE OFTEN than anyone else's, and I was aggroed every time. It was being broken by Level 12-16 aggressive beasts. The scouts almost never had their mask scent broken.

This is a bug.

Hmmm...I wonder if in the code somplace that should havea +10 instead has a -100 for the checksumfield.

Yes, looking at the skill tree you would think that. In game: Scouts are masking with greater success then Rangers, and low-level better then Masters. Hence the reason we think something is "fishy".

Maskscent really never worked for me (interms of pts)before the patch...every now and then I got 8 - 16pts here and there but nothing that was really significant, in fact I looked at any pts I got as an act of God. I could stand in the midst of 20 aggresive mobs and not pick up a pts.... the upside was they never aggro'd me. Now after this patch everytime I run out to do a mission I pick up 500 pts (total) just navigating around......and this is on Naboo. Maskscent seems to drop really quickly though

Maskscent gives way too much XP and being broken too often. Wasn't this the problem when the game launched and everyone finished Explore and Hunting in one day because of the Maskscent XP? It's back now!

I was in Naboo and re doing my house and my mask scent was broken and I saw nothing in the Radar!

I agree with some of the above posters about rangers maskscent beimng a lot weaker thana scouts.

My friend (almost a master scout exept for survival) and me (a Master Ranger) were in correlia runing faction missions. I was getting aggored every two or three lairs and she had to help me. I ended up not using mask scent at all and just taking the long way around.

Right now Is better not to maskscent in correlia if your a master ranger.

Master Ranger here and, Yes, I too am getting aggro'ed by just about everything I happen across... even creatures outside my radar distance are detecting and attacking me.

I have been hearing from my Scout friends that Maskscent is working like a dream for them, so I can only assume that when they removed our Ranger bonus to maskscent, they must have left in some line of code that is giving us a negative modifier to it.

I would assume that is the same problem with conceal, since I am getting alot of Novice Rangers that say it works great and Master Rangers (myself included) that suffer attack by Everythingwhen theyuse it.

On the upside, I am no longer getting stalked with a successful maskscent check!
