Field bases do not seem to be repelling any creatures. I've seen gorgs walk through the base. Also the experience does not make the camp very viable. With 90 people and 20 additional minutes over the previous camp I'm getting 100-160 more exp, bleh. WIth the 30 metal and 30 chemical cost, the only reason to put it up is the medical crafting station. I almost need to go back to high quality camp kits because I can harvest for those and they are just 100 exp less. The max exp needs to be much, much higher and should go over a longer time. If I can get 1000 exp in 15 minutes, I should get 2000 exp over 30, not 1200. And there seems to be no difference between 7 people and 90, come on, it's a Field base....

Also, PLEASE allow high level dancers and musicians to heal battle fatigue in Field Bases. There aren't going to be many of them. Both bases and high level entertainers. Everyone still goes to town to get missions, buy things, relax, get transports, socialize, pvp, and more. The limitation does seem justified anymore.

On that same note I saw someone with 1000 battle fatigue and it didnt seem to do anything except give a message when healing. No limitations on their combat capabilities
whatsoever.

Gorgs are no harm. Field base are not suppose to repel any creatures. They are suppose to repel only agressive creautres or red triangles on the overlay map. Gorgs are yellow and they are not agressive.

How about adding an entertainer holoprojector to the field base that removes battlefatigue. Not at the rate of a live dancer or musician. Even if it was 10 BF every 5 minutes, it would be something that would improve the field base overall.

Speaking of which....

I made my first field base tonight......very nice little setup. But I wasn't expecting a crafting station until the last ranger camp. Did they mix them up, or is the final camp even bigger? And just how does the repel-critter bit work? (I was kinda expecting a laser fense from what a friend had told me).

I'm pleased with the field base. I'd like some info on the hig-tech version if anybody would care to share.

Agree 100% about the Field Base / High tech field base being able to heal BF with an entertainer present. There will be so few rangers in the first place (its an incomplete profession after all), and fewer still who will be able to create these nicer camps that it will not affect the entertainers in cantinas very much. In addition, it would make the ranger a desired profession for the big hunting groups for once. Currently, rangers bring no desired skills to big hunting groups.

Seems like a win/win deal to me...can somebody point out a negative that I'm missing?

Gorgs aside, my point was that I don't believe the base is repelling any creatures, aggressive or otherwise. I have seen Tusken banthas enter the camp, etc. This could be ghosting bugs, lag or other issues. I have been bugging some of these elements andim hoping the base works as intended and these are isolated issues. I have seen agressive creature lairs spawn nearby and then attack members of the camp. The experience is my primary issue. For something that is two skill boxes above the basic ranger high tech camp it should give a LOT more exp than it does.

Yes this feature is definitely not working. This isn't unique to field bases, the higher level scout camps are supposed to repel to some extent. I would assume that ideally the higher level camps would repel higher level or more vicious creatures. Yet I have had those hermit spiders run into my camp and attack me from quite some distance away.

I don't think "repel" is being used in a proper context here. I was completely under the impression that repel = similar to camoflauge meaning that if I'm in a high level base, there is less of a chance a nearby red will agro to me... I always thought of it as a bonus to camoflauge (thus the reasons the camps look sorta camoflauged)

But I guess its just how you take the word... I don't think it's "realistic" to expect a camp to prevent creatures from coming in, unless of course the camp has barbed wire and a gate... that would make "sense" in my mind.

I had trained to recieve the ability to make and use a field base. I have yet to have a field base in my schematics, nor canI use other player created ones. Is this just a mis-representation of what lvl you actually get the field base at, tier 3 instead of tier 2, or am I some how bugged?

Check your skill tree again. Last night I tried to train in a skill off of another player, and for some reason it didn't register and I had to try again. If it was an NPC, did you have enough money?

I paid an NPC trainer in Talus 8000cr for it. At the time I had about 200k in the bank and 40k on hand. I'm almost to fontiering(?) III or the third lvl in the camp tree. Hopefully I can build it then.

You should be able to build it now
