Thread: Thinking about going master ranger/master BE

The only problem I see is that even Durni's will kill me fast Or will my (future) traps be enough to get away from agresive mobs?

And I know BE's aren't all that great at the moment but things can only get better for them imo.

Any opinions are welcome (well minus the flamy ones )

The traps aren't really designed for hunting as a primary weapon really in my opinion, there's nothing which can replace a good blaster.

you are gonna have a heckova time getting through ranger without a weapon hehe. and mastering ranger and be will take up 232 points (ouchie). when i put down my be a couple days ago and picked up my ranger again, i was contemplating picking up the dna sampling tree, so i could help out be's with high level aggressive creature dna. i don't, unfortunately believe that i will have enough points to do so, nor is there significant interest in that idea from be's i've talked to on the server.

hey tal, i didn't know you were a ranger too

My main character is almost a master in Ranger and half way to Master in CH. You have enough points to master in three areas, which is essential if you are going for these two. Unlike say mastering in Rifleman and Pistoleer you have to master in scout in order to go on to ranger. So you are going to use up most of your exp. points getting to Master Ranger and Master CH. You still have enough points to reach expert rifle and expert pistol and master in both R & CH. You also have to remember by mastering in CH you can have one, two or three pets assisting you along with all the traps, maskscent & camo. So you are hardly defenseless. The main area you will be weaker in is PVP. Here only your weapons you have and the animals will be your strength and limits, with possibly one or two specialized traps they are considering that can be used at least in NPC encounters. The use of /track and /areatrack or whatever they are calling them will be useful in PVP situations as well. so you will not either specifically or a very good general way where the enemies are to assist your team or yourself in the situation. So your situation is far from bleak it just takes good thought of which creatures you want out in what situation.

he's not talking about being a ranger/ch. he's talking about being a ranger/be. 77 points for scout, 63 points for ranger, 63 points for be, 29 points for stimpack chemist. he'd have just enough left over for novice marksman.

now, this is doable if you have weapons skills while you are gaining through your wayfaring and tracking lines. once you have those out of the way, you don't need combat any more. you can get lots of trapping experience just by using phecnacine darts and running. so, were you to gain 1/2 the ranger tree before starting bio engi, this is quite doable.

Wayfaring and tracking. Considering the bio-engineering changes they mentioned it's going to be very handy to track down specific animals and get close enough to dna sample them. With so many BEs also being CHs it means they'll never have enough points to be effective as me for making clones since I can get better DNA and at more efficient rate than them
