Thread: This is why i disagree with camo kits resourses
First off a ranger should use resourses at hand too camo himself or others in my opinion. We should not be putting down harvesters to get stuff too make these. While i agree it makes sence that a ranger would use plant life to camo him or herself. I disagree that they would buy or harvest what they need, they should use what is around them in the enviroment, not what they collect off a harvester.
I didn't take Ranger abilities too run around surveying and putting up harvesters. And as a master CH andd soon to be master ranger. I have no room for artisian skills. as it is i only have room for 3 boxes of an advanced combat skill.
I feel we should be able to conceal ourselves just with items we can forage. Or just be able too conceal ourselves period no kit required. As for camoing others we need kits with more charges so we can camo groups without taking up all of our pack space. And the compoents needed should be more easlily obtainable.
this is just my opinion. I am very disapointed in this skill as it is now.
Yea, they can be experimented on pretty nicely. I get 6 charges regularly with some good quality materials on Tatooine.
10 I could believe, but 15 is impossible with the way experimentation is set up... Unless they are a Bothan and had OQ 900 - 1000 materialson all four slots (that is ifthe Bothan camo bonus also applies to experimenting), I would be very hesitant to believe anyo ne that said they can get 15 charges on the camo kits.
I agree though. There is no logical reason for us to have to buy or become an artisan to find the materials to make camouflage. I AM an Artisan and I still dont understand why they made it this way when we already have a skill that could have used this to make it more usefull. As it stands now, foraging is only good for feeding my pets...
I completely agree with you on the subject of camoflauge. We should not have to become surveyors and hunt for wheat to put into it. I really don't agree with the quantities of materials wanted of us to get to make the camo while getting so little uses out of each one we make. Out of all we put in we get what 3 uses. Thats just not enough. Should be at least 10 like a stim-A and decrease amount of units needed.
Thats my 2 Cents! ![]()

Experiment on them(find a public or private crafting station). You will get more uses out of them. I personally have gotten up to 4, but read of one person getting 7 and another 15.
"and how many experiment points are you using? if it's more then the one point i get you have artisian skills?"
- The number of experimentation points for camo kits appears to be linked to you camoflauge skill.
- If you are a Bothan, you can get +115 in camo, allowing for 11 experimentation points apparently. ![]()

We should be able like RL rangers use what is around them in the enviroment
RL Rangers also use camouflage face-paint that comes in a metal tube that's made from God knows what, but even after you've cleaned your face - you still get the darn stuff oozing out of your pores for the next two days. (No, I haven't been to Ranger School, nor was I a batt boy - but I did wear more than my fair share of loam and light green when I was in the Army
)
They don't make the stuff - it's made by someone in a factory made out of stuff the Ranger didn't gather himself. The point? Comparing "real life" to a "game" is an exercise in futility.
One of the fundamental principles of this game is interdependency. Is it really that bigof an issue to have to rely on someone else for something? We already do in so many ways that I can't even see how this is any kind of an issue with anyone. We already have folks in our soon-to-be created (Friday night
)Antarian Rangers branch on Intrepid lining up deals with suppliers for these materials so that we can craft our camo kits.
It may be inconvenient if you aren't networked with a PA or artisans, but this isn't a game or a profession breaker.
