Thread: What's your preferred vehicle?
Mount? Swoop? Bike? Landspeeder? Buy crates of deeds and use them all?
Personally, I'm having some trouble deciding...I'm most attracted to the swoop, but I don't like the stated "poor terrain handling." And I just have a hard time seeing a ranger cruising through the wilderness with the top down in a landspeeder...I watch the vehicle movie and I keep expecting the person in the landspeeder to pull up next to a member of the opposite gender and say "Hey, baby, need a ride?"...
I'm personal to the speeder bike myself...
- I probably won't use one very often, opting for my fleet feet.
But I lovezooming over lakes, it is so cool. ![]()
I've bought and tried the speederbike tonight on Endor and Rori. Quite impressive...A good trade-off between speed and rough terrain handling. What a blast. Very useful. I wonder what will be the impact on the balance of the game (meaning that it will be now much easier to do long distance missions or go to places like Wayfar...)
And also, the repair cost is really not so bad. I really don't understand all the whining about that. I used it for around 10 missions and got only for 354cr of repair. Cost me more than that just for friendly tipping all my fellow medics or entertainers.
And the ghost effect doesn't seems to occur on the less populated area when you store your bike. My only complaint could be that it would be fun to be able to rename it or put a license plate on it to identify it if you leave it a the entrance of the city or else.

I love my Landspeeder. It's not as fast as the Swoop and the Speederbike, but for me, it's the immersion factor. Ever since I saw Star Wars waaaaay back in '77, I have always thought that Landspeeder of Luke's was just plain cool. Now I have one and I am very happy. Sure, the Swoop gangs come zooming past me, yelling things like "PARK IT WOOKIEE!!", but I can live with that.
Also, does anyone know if Wayfar has a garage?
As much as I wanted a bike, I decided to go with the landspeeder because many of my missions and hunts are in the monuntains or on hilly slopes so the terrain advantage is a real help. Not only that, but my gal looks like a Barbie doll in a souped up futruistic hot rod. NO MORE WAITING FOR SHUTTLES!!!! YAY!!!!I flew from Anchorhead to Mos Eisley in less than 2 minutes!
Question: How does one get repairs/maintenance done?

Most cities should have a Garage. It isn't labelled on the map as such (at least, not yet), but it's basically a square building that cannot be entered (i.e. if you look on the overhead map, it has no blue lines indicating entries or doors).
It has an overhang, sorta like a carport. And there are two vehicle bays behind white forcefields. There's one right next to the Kor Vella starport (run out from the starport and go around to the right) if you want to see an example.
Once you get within range of a Garage, you get a message saying that you are...now in range of a Garage. At that point you can right-click on your vehicle and "Repair" will be one of the options.

Ok, this may be a day premature, but based just on the given information about the upcoming vehicles, what's everybody planning to ride?

I like my Swoop. Corellia is flat enough that the alleged poor terrain handling of the Swoop isn't much of a factor.
And the speed of the Swoop is such that I can't really tell a difference between how fast it climbs a cliff and how fast a Landspeeder climbs a cliff.
I'm really looking forward to doing a Dukes of Hazzard jump off the cliffs near Naboo.
