I am bored. I have an LLC but I want a change. What combat prof do you guys recommend? One caveat it that I will not drop Master Ranger as I am eternally hopeful that we will move to the top of the Dev queue in the future and I like being a ranger as it is now. I currently have novice rifleman trained..should I stay with that? Has anyone tried commando with ranger or are the basic (pistoleer, rifleman, carbineer) the most common? Oh well, let me know please, as I value your advice.

Commando and Ranger would be really cool, and except for the hours of smacking stuff with my head (unarmed) I was thinking on it myself.

I hunt a lot with a commando, and she kicks serious butt with her flamer and heavy weapons. Coupled with Ranger she could get a lot of resources, hunting solo and all... but alas, her holo said TK... so there sits the Flung Poo wanna be, punching lairs for fun and profit.

Anyhow, go for it, lemme know if it is worth it. Me and my 1000 unarmed pts await...lol.

Currently I can master Pistoleer (now 4-2-4-4 with enuf pts) but would have to drop my medical skills to do it.

Good luck

JB

DOH! According to the charater builder I use, I can't keep master ranger and get commando. It leaves me with -2 points (I hate the intial unarmed grind anyway) . I also hunt with a commando and I think we would get nerfed if the two of us were combining our FT's on big game.

I think it is becuase I didn't /bug the training notice problem from TC, which is now fixed (as of last night). i haven;t checked if it is faxed on live yet. One little lapse and I am ousted from the community!!!!

I hear rifleman works incredibly well with Ranger... I'm personally a pistoleer and enjoy taking critters to about half health before they can find me.

Hey Calc,

Rifeman!

I am master rifle and master ranger, and marksman 4,1,1,4. No more points after that.

Rifle works very well with ranger, lots of good ranged power. Go out with a freind that is a tank or has one and you will do incredible things to lairs and large foes alike

Yeah,I am thinking rifle will be the way to go...I just hate the melee damage (but LLC has that too, now, so....) well, since I have novice rifle (was 2-1-1-1 n th past) I think I willtry with it for a while.

"I just hate the melee damage"

That should be gone with the last day's patch...

  • Replaced with Damage Mitigation it was.

I am still not sure how the mitigation works, even after reading the TC forum...oye

"I am still not sure how the mitigation works"

Mitigation:

Scenario:

  • You have Mitigation Level 1

  • The Creature does 100-200 damage range

Result:

  • The Mitigation reduces the damage range of the creatureto 100-160.

Essentially, Mitigation reduces the Maximum Damage by a certain percentage...

  • Namely 20%, 40% and 60%.
