Thread: Tameable attribute on examine

Does this just tell us if we personally can tame it, or if its tameable overall? I assume the first, but just wanted to double check. I assume all babies are tameable and the Tameable attribute is just there in case we are CH's and to lazy to figure out my tame cap?

It just tells you if its tamable period.. But I think all babies are tamable.. if you want to figure out wether you can tame something or not, just bring up the radial menu and see if you have the option.

Yeah, I think that information in examine is kinda silly since it only says "yes" for babies and all babies as far as I have seen are tamable. It would make more sence if it said "yes" for adults who themselves aren't tamable but are known to spawn babies as in "yes this creature type is tamable if you can find a baby".

Well, I can't tame doodlie, no CH in this Ranger (well, was for a hot minute, dropped it to kill em, not tame em) and I can see if the creature can be tamed. Got to figure it's for in general and not you specifically.

I've learned to ignore this particular item on creatures. I'm a Master Ch as well as MasterRanger and after taming a baby I did a check and it still said it was not tameable. so I think it's there for looks personally.

Doesn't seems to work correctly. Yesterday I checked a Shaupaut Hunter baby and it said that it was not tamable but I still have the option to tame it and I did tame it in fact.

Of course, now I look stupid with my little Shaupaut Hunter called Minus following me

As far asI can tell not all babies are tameable any more. Also, as previously mentioned, the only way to tell if the are tamable is to see if you have the option through the radial menu. But as many of us know, I have been the "ranger of misinformation" lately.

Still, I think that the "tamable" line in the examine window would be faaaar more useful to any ranger and/or CH if it was a Yes or No based on if that species is tamable in the game in general and not necessarily that creature specifficly since if you aren't a CH, well then who cares if it is tameable, and if you are, you can tell just as easily if it is tamable by observing the radial menu.

Thats exactly why I asked the question in the first place. Everything I check says no, yet my CH friend can tame them just fine.
