Thread: What each level of creature knowledge lets you know?
I'm slowly dropping some ranger skills that I don't use, mainly because they serve no purpose (traps, tracking humans). By the way, anyone else realise how completely useless tracking 4 now is? We used to be able to hunt people down, but now with speeders, it's nearly useless. I was grouped with a guild member, he was declared, I was not. Anyway, he got attacked so I got a group TEF. The attacker had very low mind stats, and me being a rifleman became a threat to him, so he ran. I used tracking on him for about 30 minutes, and kept the TEF because every once in a while, I'd catch him sitting and hit him once or twice. This was before speeders, now that they are available, all this guy would have had to do was generate one and take off, fight over. Doing that was a lot of fun and this guy and I talked after my TEF finally ran out because he was able to avoid me. We both had a good time, but that is no longer possible.
So as a result I'm dropping tracking 4, but I want to know before I do, what info I'll lose when I examine a creature. From master to level 4, I lost hit damage info which doesn't concern me. MOST creatures maximum hit range is their difficulty level times 10, rancor being an obvious exception, so that is easy to figure.
I'm guessing I'll lose Base-To-Hit (since damage was the very bottom of the info as master, I'm assuming the creature knowledge just stacks, but not positive), which I don't care to have as well. So can someone who knows what each creature knowledge level does or someone with tracking 3 please tell me what info you lack compared to level 4?
Thanks
Tracking 2 - Special 1
Tracking 3 - Special 2
Tracking 4 - To-Hit
Mastery - Damage
Master Scout - CL
My guess is that Novice Ranger gives stalking info. I'm not sure about Tracking 1. Are the hide and meat types given in Scout or Ranger? That might be it, but it's been so long I can't recall.
