Hello all,

Just wanted to say hi, I just got novice ranger the other night and am looking forward to going up the ranger tree. I have been reading the boards the past couple of weeks and have been pleased with all the help most people seem to be offering to others. Plus I have noticed the good correspondant that we have so it should be exciting to see what comes of this profession.

I finally made through Master Scout and now working on Ranger. I am not doing it for holo, doing it cause this is what I wanted to do from first time seeing the profession. I have read all the faqs and this board. With the new changes, should I head up conceal or tracking tree first? I generally like going out hunting things the most. Thanks. I am Cebri in game on Shadowfire.

Welcome! Personally, I'd go for tracking first, especially since you said you like hunting stuff. Happy hunting!

WTG Cebri

welcome to the ranks.

I too would do the tracking tree, but don't forget about trapping and frontiering. Folksseem to feel these are hard to level as well. If you can afford it, throw a camp down everywhen you are gonna pause a bit, craft a bit or heal, whatever you needed the camp for then leave it up when you are done.

and throw traps at everything...

Feel free to send a tell or mail anytime you need ...

Noob question here but can you be taught novice ranger by another Player Character or do you have to find a NPC ranger trainer?

You need an NPC trainer for novice, master can be taught by a player.

Hey Cebri,

Congrats man and welcome. Look me up in game and we will scoot you up the tree. Dont be like the typical grinder as it is very tempting. Stop and smell the vegitation. Learn what each skill and ability does as you go. Experiment with it. One thing to being a master entails is knowing what you are doing with the skills and abilities you have. You will be the subject matter expert on Ranger as a master. Most of all, enjoy it.

Look forward to hunting with you brother.

Personally the only part of the Ranger skill tree that took any specific thought for mewas the camping XP, as I quite enjoyed joining large hunting groups the trapping and other skill xp just came on without my really noticing it.

The last notch of the Frontering was hell though as I was just doing this part when the gift holo's came out and suddenly I was in competition with numerous scouts and their little millet tents springing up and the slightest pause in a groups movement :-)

Gelotri, thanks. What planet are you on. I am not a grinder and I do enjoy the full experience of the game. Is Gelotri your game name? I picked on becoming Ranger cause it looks like a bunch of fun. All the professions have nerfs or quirks or things that can make them better. I don't think it serves gameplay to make anything a uber-profession.
