I responded to this in the other forum.. and the answer is "Not really."

I forage nightly when logging off for one thing... +500mind Flur-Cle onions. They help me as a rifleman, but I certainly wouldn't buy them as they last for only 60seconds. Foraged food is practically useless. Most of it is like +50 to some major attribute which gets used up with one special shot anyway.

If they would only make the food a little better, and not require merchant skills for vendors, I would create the game's first Vegetable Stand.

Nope.

Unless you like finding crap that works for 30 secs to maybe a whole 2 mins.

And the message about "discarded items"means you actually found a rare item, but wait. There are no rare items for you to find. So you found nothing and don't get to keep it.

I only forage when my dipwad pet is hungry, and since he was nerfed, I seldom use him.

A forage +9 SEA is about as valuable as a rescue +9 SEA.

I'd trade ya a CDEF pistol for it.

I noticed that none of you guys above are on the Farstar server, so perhaps its an oddity for me only, but I sell foraged food for 500cr a time on the bazzar....!

As foraging is something that I tend to do when hanging about in a camp or just pausing for a moment I seem to collect fair amounts of the stuff so it all kinda' adds up to a reasonable bit of pocket money at the end of the day. I've often considered the stuff more or less worthless and very seldom actually eat it myself therefore wondered why it sells so quickly..?

In fact, I'm going to start selling it at higher and higher prices to see just how silly it gets, if I hit the 3k jackpot (!!!!!) I'll report back to you all and you can share in my amazement.

As a side note I'll also often simply offer some about whilst in a camp on a hunting party for free, people seem to be quite impressed by that on occasions, especially those with pets.

Sorry, I've another thought, now if food and drink were to be a "requirement" imagine what that would do for Scouts, Rangers, Chefs and Bartenders....

Personally i think food should be a requirement as the previous poster suggests.

Make it that you can only heal wounds in a camp if you have eaten or perhaps it increases the speed of regeneration. MakeBF healing work incredibly slowly in a camp with the help of an entertainer if you have eaten foraged food. With a nice cooked meal supplied by a chef, the rate of healing is increased many times.

Lets face it, a meal out with friends is a form of entertainment anyway is it not? Who does not feel better after a nice lunch? Camping in real life requires eating and it is often a major part of camping alongside the crate of beer in the spare tent.

This would solve 3 seperate problem.

1. The ability to heal BF on long hunts.

2. The increase of the need for entertainers, giving them a role outdoorsand enabling them to actually get some sunshine for once.

3. Chefs would actually have a market and would also have a role in a group hunt as well if they were allowed to cook hot food in a campsite which had benefits to the group as a whole.

I am sure people could work something out that is better than this but you get the general idea.
