Has anyone put any thought into the role of Rangers and Scouts when the space expansion launches? What can a master hunter find to do outamongst the stars?I knowwe won't have to worry about it for a whilebut i'm stillwilling to hearanyonesopinion.

We should be able to strand ourselves on the new planets and live of the enviroment. Actually I think that Rangers should be able to live on worlds that have only player means of transport. That way(if we get some new things) we will become the know it alls of such planets as most people wouldnt travel there unless they had someone ready to pick them up. Isn't that what being a ranger is all about, knowing the world your on better than most.

Thats one reason I hate the POI wps is because now everyone can get a wp to cool locations, for hunting or just for the looks. Before I was actually asked about different places, and being the ranger I am I usually knew stuff about them, because I explore first hand these places and look for unique things.

Anyways I hope that all professions find something new with SE, even if we are not used directly in space.

Planets with no cities is a great idea... It would be a rangers wet dream. I love this idea. No starport, just small clearings large enough for a small transport to land and drop people off, and a whole planet of untamed wilderness. Cooooool. I hope for at least one... They can even it out and put corusant in which is nothing but city.

The cool thing would be to discover planets

Ranger is not a profession. It's a lifestyle.

Yes, Rangers are basicly explorers, and so space would fall into that area. Of course it all depends on how the SE turns out. Some people that I would consider being Space Explorers times would be Jori and Gav Daragon, exploring Hyperspace lanes, finding safer ways to travel at personal risk.

Buzz Lightyear was a Space Ranger. Maybe SOE can pick up a pixar license and we'll find ourselves fighting the horrible Zurg! Come to think of it, Buzz's jetpack worked about as well as our High Tech Field Bases! We're halfway there! W00T! To infinity and beyond!

But seriously... given the knowledge Rangers *should* have of the stars, I'd think Rangers would make excellent navigators in space.

Actually within the SW Universe, there already exist the Sector Rangers. They were originally part of the Old Repulbic and were absorbed by the Empire. Essentially they are like a an interstellar cross between a Texas Ranger - US Army Ranger - and Park Ranger. They are law enforcement, military and rescue. I've posted about them before in this forum and it would allow for some more direction for us Rangers if the Dev's actually jelled onto the idea.

We could hunt those things that live in asteroids - like the one that almost ate the milenium falcon!

I hope thay let Wookiees wear space suits.

I recall reading somewhere that one of the primary occupations of Star Wars Scouts was to find new hyperspace routes and planetary systems...
