Thread: Master Ranger with Master TKA or Master Rifleman

Hello-I am mastering ranger and Im not sure to combine it with master TKA or master Rifleman. I was wondering if I could get some advice. I know rifleman seems like the "natural" choice but keep in mind I mainly solo grind nest after nest to collect 20k or more of a quality organic resource.
I am leaning towards TKA because I heard it kills animals very easy (low kinetic resists) and with a buff I wouldnt have to wear any armor or even worry about weapons and weapon repair. I do not know too much about Rifleman--my concern is that when I get swamped in melee combat (which I often do) while doing nests that rifle will miss alot and would be too slow? I appreciate anyones input-Thanks.
Master Ranger with Master TKA would give +72 melee +45 ranged defense.
-Looking for what proefessions would be best for killing alot of animals quickly even in melee.

TKA is certainly nice with the ability to heal your own wounds and the ability to avoid those wounds in the first place (mell defense, toughness, etc). TKA have to chase their prey when the creautres does it 'death run,' BUT they don't have to travel to far to harvest. I am currenty a rifleman, and I love it, BUT you almost have to be a food addict (mind buffs) which you don't when you are TKA. Rifles deal nice damage and have different types of damage for the higher level mobs. The answer is, either, but I hope that this info helps a bit in your decision.

Two easy solutions to this:
1) Use KD near the end of the battle so that you kill 'em when they're down. They can't run away if they aren't standing.
2) Taunt. The second they run, hit yout taunt key and they'll stop in their tracks.

Between the two, rifle totally. TKA isn't what it used to be. Avoiding wounds and BF isn't much of a discussion when you take into account the low defenses TKA has been granted (two hours of hunting as a TKA/Ranger yielded enough woundage, accumulatively, to gather over 150BF). As I posted on an earlier thread, I had TKA/Rifleman for a good while (kept TKA simply to stack defenses, and rarely ever used it. Whenever I used TKA, I would always switch back to rifle because, well, high level mobs laugh at kinetic damage). Frustration led me to drop TKA in exchange for carbine. I'll test carbine and rifle to weigh the better (I'm sick of being drunk on brandy and full of canape simply to use the rifle). I"m likely dropping rifle to make room for Ranger and keeping the template as Carbine/Ranger. I'm ready for mando armor and static traps per the promise from the devs (not holding my breath).
As promised on that post, I'll report my feelings about carbine and why I decide to choose it or drop it. However, do what you feel is right. I suggest you doing both. By that I mean, master TKA first and play with it. Drop it for Rifle and test that as well. Or master both and maxing your scouting xp. Choose what you like the most and drop the other for Ranger.

my plan has always been to go master ranger. at first i was doing the rifleman trees, and thought that it was for me. i would be that, but there were just a few things i got tired of. getting aggreod on by the entire pack ws the main thing. then the second would probably be that the majority of the time when i would go prone and get in range my target would take off running in the opposite direction, so i would then get up and chase. go prone and bam its off again. so i learned after becoming 4203 rifleman that it didnt fit in my play style. i just didnt understand the concepts. i would have loved to stay rifleman. nothing better than seeing -5k+ damage shots.
so looking for another profession i saw a tkguild member tearing up some pickets in a quater of the time that i could. so i tried it and mastered it. i love it. it fits my aggressive play style. granted alot of the high high end creatures have high kinitic resists the majority of the time they have high energy resists. i soloed a ns protector ((about 50k ham) which i know isnt the best, but it was the best i had ever done solo) using tk that in my opinion i wouldnt have been able to with rifles, do to my play style and lack of understanding of this prof. but there is no doubt in my mind that there are riflemen/women out there that could hunt me under the table. just my 2 cents

I have been both Master Rifleman and TKM (still am). I loved both professions, but I am more of a melee guy so I kept that. I would just suggest be whatever you enjoy the most.

I have been pistol/carb and rifle RANGER. Rifle is my favorite by far!! Alot of people say HS3 things to death, but I play with death and use 5 different weapons and many different attacks (including traps) that keep it exciting. ]
Now I must say my buddy is TKA and he takes half the time I do to kill things!! Sometimes!!
I think your play style has alot to do with it!!!
