Having recently become a master ranger, I found myself wondering what a suitable test of my newly acquired abilites would be, so I ventured forth to Dathomir, unbuffed, unarmoured and unarmed... To collect all the POI's.... On foot, yep.. No Speeder.
I know, sounds insane, but I figured we are probably the only class both able and crazy enough to try it.
After 8-10 hours of collecting milk (including an attempt on a rancor just for giggles), egg's and all 6 badge giving POI's I would say it was probably the most fun I've had in SWG for a long time.
Admittedly I had to use my Probot to move a stubborn nightsister off a POI I needed, but other than that, I returned with a couple of thousand units of Eggs and milk, a new found respect for my class and a quiet confidence that we are, after all, a breed not just a profession.

Congrats!
By the way, did your camo not work on the Nightsister? I usually find that I can sneak past most Nightsisters as long as I have Dathomir camo on.

Didnt use any camo kits, managed to get by with Mask Scent and the occasional burst run when it broke.. I dont trust conceal that much lol
I was told it doesnt work on NPC's anyway apparently. Have to try it next time I head up there.

It sometimes works. For creatures, I find it better than maskscent (although I get the Bothan racial bonus there). For NPCs, I find it can be quite variable. Sometimes it works really nicely (i.e. works exactly like maskscent does for creatures), other times it doesn't work at all (i.e. it acts as if you didn't have maskscent on and walked up to pet a rancor). It usually works for Nightsisters for me although the break rate is somewhat high.

I use Camo all the time. Apart from generic thug typesand quest NPCs it works against most NPCs most of the time in my experience. Even against Nightsisters and Siths Thugs & Black Sun. I can walk around Bestine as a Rebel combatant and the Imps don't evenbat an eyelid. The way I look at is if I earned all this XP and trained up to use camo I might aswell use it! It's either that or I will just start to crawl around everywhere.I really hope the devs remember to give us Kashyyyk kits....

I don't believe in the new CU that camo is currently working. I tried to use it the other night, you can make the kits, but there wasn't anyway I could figure to use it. There isn't any icon given at M Ranger for /conceal, the /conceal command now works for /conceal shot not camo, and there isn't anything on the radial dial that say "use" on the camo kits. So camo currently as far as I can see is untestable.
But outside of the new CU, I have used it a lot and usually have good results vs npcs, although like /maskscent which only works against creatures it will break also. I like to use camo because outside of area track and one trap in the Ranger Profession (not scout) camo is the only other thing worth using in the Ranger skills currently since the others traps are very costly and not terribly effective and for me at least don't seem to work very often, and camps are nostaligic but not useful in game anymore. So if you are only using /areatrack and nothing else in Ranger (since you get good traps as a scout), other than becoming a Master Ranger to be a Master Ranger, there isn't any reason to use up all those SP if you are not going to use camo. Camo, that is making camo kits is the only real reason currently to go for Master Ranger. Now I certainly want this to change, because my one Master Ranger (I currently have three Rangers) would love to be able to do a lot more then he currently can do, which I really hope is going to come soon.
We did get the cl and health bonuses, which was essential for any Rangers viability in the new CU. But we can use the vast majority of weapons in the game now without being a part of particular "combat profession" but you don't get any specials, accuracy bonuses, or speed bonuses currently under the new CU. So this is something to keep in mind and to watch and if you have the time to test on the TC servers to see how it will ultimately affect us when the new CU goes live.
Hope this is helpful.
