I have just decided my Secondary Character will be a Ranger. I am unsure though what his HAM Stats should look like.

I wonder if any of you could give me an example of yours.

well, u need to wear armour... so max all HAM thats needed for armour... then its up to u, i have 650 action and mind and the rest health....

the stats make sure when i take armour off i regenerate really fast so i dont even need to heal, unless i really get busted up.

depends a hell of a lot on what wepon you use though, I use light lightning cannon, so it might be different for you if your melle

"I have just decided my Secondary Character will be a Ranger. I am unsure though what his HAM Stats should look like."

- Your HAM should probably be based on what your chosen Combat profession will be.

- The only thing that a Ranger requires is Action points for throwing traps. And even then you probably won't be doing that very often.

- I am a Tera Kasi who has access to Doctor buffs whenever I need them.

- So all my points are migrated into the Mind pools (I have them maxed out at M:1000, F:500, F:600) which don't buff very well and can't be healed in combat (at the moment ).

- The rest I dumped into the Action pools (because Trandoshans have a high minimum Health by default).

having never had a fighting character before I think I may continue up the Marksman tree. I guess an all rounded set of stats would be advisable.

Armour, simple, you have a macro to take it on or off... your HTFB heals wounds...

Without armour on i get hit for 200

With armour on i get hit for 30

I got LLC wich doesent need any points to fire rapid shots, and occasionally use lightningshot2 at point blank for 5-9k dammage.

And if I get doc buffs, well then i can go on a rampage...

I don't hunt big game at all, so I typically use a personal shield generator, which I like. It's enough to keep the damage down on me.

My HAM is something like 800/1000/800 and I think that's pretty good. I keep my mind high because I heal myself and my pet frequently and my action is high to compensate for my pistol which eats action faster than other stats.
