Ok, I got the intellect badge the day before the the patch that gave rangers the /areatrack ability. It took me maybe about 6 hours of gameplay before the camp spawned right near me. I guessed right the first time, bada-boom bada bing I got the intellect badge. However......

Since I got /areatrack skill many of my friends have asked me to accompany them to the bh area and I have been looking myself for the altruism camp. Spending overall about 12 hours looking for bh camp again and spending about 15 hours straightlooking for Altruism camp I havn't had a SINGLE sighting. Peoplein the area at the same time as me also havn't seen the camp. I have been using /areatrackwith the"People" optionhoping to turn up a list of BH and smugglers or Land Owner identifying the camps.

Questions #1: Have any rangers been able to get either the BH camp occupants or the Rancher camp occupants to show up on /areatrack?

Question#2 Does anyone besides me feel that perhaps the /areatrack ability could be interfering with the spawning of the camps?

Discuss.....

"Questions #1: Have any rangers been able to get either the BH camp occupants or the Rancher camp occupants to show up on /areatrack?"

I've had the BH and Smugglers show up on /areatrack.

However, /areatrack seems to be currently a little flaky, and has issues with the vertical axis I think. The very first time I saw them on /areatrack I hit enter to type 'Found them!' and of course closed the /areatrack box (something of a pet peeve there, it would be nice to not shift the focus to that box when it pops up, I'm usually chatting and keep closing it by accident 8-) ). I immediately used /areatrack again, but had moved a couple ofmetres downhill, and couldn't get it again. When I did find it, it was on a plateau on top of the canyons, around 80m away from me. It seems that from more than a few metres below that level it cannot be tracked.

I had the same issue doing Eleanor's, using /areatrack at a low elevation did not pick up the camp at a higher elevation. I'm not sure if it's also an issue if you're at a high elevation and the camp spawns lower as I've been unable to test that.

The best bet would probably be to use /areatrack from alternating high and low points to cover both possibilities.

"Question#2 Does anyone besides me feel that perhaps the /areatrack ability could be interfering with the spawning of the camps?"

DoingEleanor's the camp spawned after about 30 minutes of roaming the area using /areatrack every minute or so, so I'd say no 8-)

I said it in Jedi, I'll say it here...

No.

Areatrack can show you what's already loaded at 500m. Nothing past that, and cannot affect the random spawning.
