Thread: Let us see the Overal Quality before we make the kill.
Could this possibly be a nice feature that we can get when we examine a beast? Maybe scale it based on our level...eventually leading us to see the entire stats of each type item we can harvest before we shoot?
I would imagine a trained Ranger could tell if a beast has the potential for some decent overall quality meat and hide before we take a shot. Think of it in real like...You seea large healthy bear with a good coat...compared to a skinny bear with flies all over it..patches of fur missing..we would know which one is a bit better in quality items..wouldnt we.
Despite the fact that we should be able to see the amounts we could harvest, whether a creature will pack attack of if the pack will just watch it fall...we should know the important things about a beast. Sure would save alot of time if we take on a large creature only to get around 100 OQ meat. ![]()
Just a thought..not sure if it was brought up before. Something for our Ranger Correspondant to think about as well for a possible idea from us???

- I don't know what the developers thoughts are in regards to displaying more information in the /examine window.
- I get the impression by the removal of the numeric amounts for each resource, that he is going for a more "go test it out on your own" approach.
- Namely, we can get that information by simply killing a beast and harvesting it to see what quality it is (that is what I do myself).
- Personally, I have suggested simply being able to /examine the "fat/medium/skinny"attribute of each resource, so I know which to harvest before ending up with 1 hide. ![]()
I agree Fred.
Also (and I realize this isn't reality), you can't see much about quality of hides or meat or bone on animals in real life while they're on the critter. To use a deer as an example, youmight have a very nice looking hide, to look at it. Then you get him all skinned out, and find out it isn't so good. You might find all kinds of undesirable qualities, like bad grain, scars, thin hide, etc. And in the course of the game, while it'd be nice to know, I'd rather not have people swarming the 'mob-of-the-day' because someone conned one, and now they all want the quality harvesting.
