Thread: Is the harvesting droid bonus even bigger for scouts??
A Master Scout with good veghashand a good droid can get real close to a Master Ranger without both. The sad point is while veghash increase the scout and ranger by the same amount the droid is actually more effective at Novice Scout then Master Ranger.
But a Master Ranger with droid and veghash can still harvest more of each kill then anyone else. Is the difference worth the skillpoints? With so much broken or ineffective at the moment, I'd say no. But I like being a Ranger anyway

Someone did a fairly complete analysis of the harvesting droid. It appears that you do get diminishing returns on your skill.. the higher your skill, the less benefit. Also, the higher your skill, the more likely the droid is to be a hindrance rather than a help. However, high-end harvesting droids still seem to garner a respectable bonus even for Rangers, though it is not comparable to the bonus to Scouts.
As Washell points out, a MR with the same tools will still outharvest a MS.. But whether or not the benefit is worth the skill points is an individual decision.
