Camo kits, again...

Putting my camps in my inventory again...

A harvesting droid...

A trapping droid...

I found that camo is still ignored by some NPCs. I never got the chance to try it against Stomies, though. My maskscent was working wonderfully on Yavin, so I stuck with that.../sigh. I actaully used my HTFB to heal my wounds since i had to run AFK for a but...YES I AFK CAMPED...MWAHAHAHA! I liked the harvesting droid, since it was new, but when it ran out of power, I stored it and didn't miss it. I only used the trapping droid against some Kimo's...stupid me! I did use it against a few other things, and in general, liked it. It is still new, and I expect it will end up like my camps and camo, archived for future use. I did have fun being a Ranger this weekend though .

As an experiment, I hit the Geo Lab on Yavin with Yavin Camo. I came across two.. advanced kwee? Dino-lizard thingies.. in the corridor leading down. The first time I tried to run past, and was aggroed, knocked down, and killed.

Second timeI tried, I crawled past, got almost all the way, then was aggroed, knocked down (err?) and killed.

Neither time did my camo break.

These are animals, not NPCs. I did not get to try using MaskScent, but I tend to think that the result would have been the same. It seems that all bets are off in theme dungeons, or at least in that one.

Once again, Rangers are proven less than useful. Ah well.

But Camo still works consistently against stormtroopers, and most red NPCs. Meatlumps and the like still attack regardless, though.

I still use my camps, but the inability to heal BF is still the thorn that drives this Ranger into the cities under heavy protest.

I've put in an order for a 3/3 stimpack/trap or a 3/2 stimpack/trap droid (depends on whether I decide to go with the Probot or R3...) with the guild's droid engineer, so I'll be giving my comments about that functionality eventually as well.

You de realize that the stim thowing unit of the droids stack just like traps and that they only throw STIM A's(100 heal max). You also need to have or find someone with pharm IV to load it for you. You need ANY medic skill to group it or command it to heal just to load the stims in to it.

I too tried the camo kit on the stormtroopers after reading this and it worked pretty dang good. I only had it break once while i was overt just running around them. I didn't try to attack as I didn't quite feel like dying(unbuffed/armored) but this little thing will come in handy. Will it work just as well on a Non Ranger? I think it should since we can apply the camo kit's to players but on the other hand i'm not sure if any other ranger mod's helped me out there.

Its funny... lol. I used to think my camo was working against npcs but I just realized it was my /concealshot doing all the work... lol.

/concealshot is the Rangers true camo. Check this pic. Sorry for the large size but I didnt want to lose clarity for some odd reason.

Not meaning to hijack this thread, but, I hunted with guild mates last night on Lok, we went everywhere on foot as is our tradition, I kept everyone camo'd and we ran as group past quite a fewagressive critters, both animals and pirates and we had no unwanted agro's. It made for a really hassle free evenings hunting.

Really off topic now, but I took a medical droid loaded with a stim pack dispenser module. The heals it gave were very small, but it chattered the whole evening. "Come on you cowards, why don't you attack me instead" was directed at some Gurks.

After considerable reading about the various new droid modules (at least the ones possibly useful to me) I garnered the following:

Trap module and Stim module stacking only affects the amount carried.

Once loaded by the applicable profession, anyone can use it.

At first this irritated me about the traps.. Basically, if you can get a scout to load you up with traps, you get to toss all the traps you want with your droid. It doesn't seem fair. But then I considered that this was basically exactly what I wanted to do with the stim portion, and I realized that I was being biased, and swallowed my irritation.
