Not sure if Giant Carrions Spats are on the terms, but I rarely use the terms now other than to get a 'start' in my hunting session.
Best place I've found for Giants is in the Agrilat Swamps where they spawn freely, also if you head East out of C-net about 1.5-2.5k you'll find them nested up all round there.
Make sure you read the Lairs 101 post sometime too for good hints on getting the best out of your nests. Its' up in the stickies someplace

Forget the spats and go for the Gulginaws and Devil Gulginaws. You can't get any avian missions on the terminals on corellia, but if you head for the mountains you should be able to find them. (Incidentally, you can usually find giant spats wherever gulginaws spawn, but even the giants give equal meat to regular gulginaws, and they're easier to kill).
The mountains east of the rebel base are usually a good spot.
